Google is still going with dimmer displays when compared to Samsung, oneplus and Apple. I was hoping they would brighten things up this time, but sadly no.

Thanks for sharing. I actually am glad the black is more grey as I could only order the black and I am not fond of deep black. I prefer the grey.

Having seen the phone at Best Buy I think you are going to be very happy with it, as I will be with mine.

I'm with you. I ordered the Stormy Black and do like that it's more grey. That is the only color that appealed to me anyway. I'm not into pastels.

I'll be heading to BB this morning so I will definitely be making my way to the P6 display. I'm looking forward to holding the Pro since that is the model I ordered.

Actually I like the name because it looks like the sky that’s been overhead these last few days where I live, with different shades of grey. It’s definitely not a black phone but can look black in different lighting and angles. But I guess Stormy Black can sort of sound like a stage name: “And appearing for three days only, Miss Stormy Black!”

LOOL this made my day!

I was at Best Buy today and played with both phones.

Impressions, Pixel 6 Pro definitely feels more premium though it reminds me of many other devices as far as in the hand feel (think Samsung Galaxy Ultra or recent OnePlus devices). Surprisingly it didn't feel so big in my hands as I thought it would but still wouldn't say it's pocket friendly. The optical zoom is extremely impressive! The quality of the image was very sharp in a test picture I took. Though this itself is not something I would use often.

As for the 6 (the one I ordered from Google), it's very similar in size to my 5A. Screen doesn't get as bright as the Pro and I feel it reaches the same amount of highest brightness as my 5A. In the hand it felt a little cheap but maybe that's because I was playing with the Pro first. I really love my 5A so time will tell if I keep the 6. I'll reserve final judgement until I receive my order.

As for the stormy black color, I am glad I didn't choose it. It's definitely a dark gray and then another darker shade of gray at the top. I can see how others would like it but for me I like the dark green color of my 5A more so I would have liked to have seen a true black and sleek device.

Yeah I just came from Best Buy and played with the Pixel Pro. Sadly I have to agree. I put it in Max brightness and it was still dim. My Note 10+ killed it in screen quality. Don't get me wrong..... I'm not expecting Google to match Samsung in screen quality but I was actually expecting better. I may have to pause and wait this one out. Play with it a little more when I get a chance.

I'll be interested to hear how bright the screen gets when the reviews start coming out in a couple of days. As well as battery life. Although that will be something we'll have to wait longer to hear about. I used to enjoy watching The Average Consumer videos but I feel sometimes he gets distracted in his videos and isn't really fair to the devices at times. Realistically, every time I get in the car, I plug my phone in, no matter what percentage it's at. Especially if I'm navigating somewhere. TAC doesn't ever plug the phones in all day.

The screen brightness is also being discussed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._pro/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I was at Best Buy today and they had two unlocked pros on display but they looked like dummies. The screen looked like a decal.

After reading this thread I'm guessing it was the low brightness that made me think it was reflected light rather than transmitting light.

I went online to the Best Buy website and now it indicates the Pixel 6 Pro can de pre-ordered....but wait...there's more. When I tried a notice popped up that this product can't be ordered online!! What the....!!!!
So I guess I'll go down there at lunch today and see what the deal is.

I go to BB.com and it says all the Pros are "Coming Soon" - how long to "Soon"?

It did say the same thing it did for you the last few days I checked. Today was different. Either way the Pro can't be ordered through the website.

Has anyone tried to pick up their BestBuy orders early?
My orders say ready for pick up tomorrow. I wonder If went there if they would release early?

I tried that on a different phone I think it was the Note or Galaxy S and they would not release it early

I'm not sure they can - had a sales rep try one time and the phones weren't entered into the computer system so he couldn't complete the sale - BUT - no harm in trying.

I think the key right there is them releasing it because of their computer system and the phone when they can start
