My Z3C Has Arrived - First Impressions (share yours as well)

Are you using the phone number that you had your S4 on? The line needs to be provisioned(have a IMEI #) of a LTE phone AND a LTE SIM card. Now all their SIM cards are probably LTE now but I had to have them make a IMEI change when I switched from my N4 to the Moto X to get LTE to work. This was mentioned on XDA also today.

It got a brand new nano card from the store today. I also gave them my IMEI number and I watched him input into his system. Funny thing was...he had my very old Lumia 820 still setup, and I have had two or three phones since and then all worked just fine.

Maybe he got a digit wrong?? I may try to call later if I get time. With the bands on this phone, I am stumped why it wouldn't work.

Ktcred LTE is working as people on XDA have posted it is. Your IMEI is probably not one the system recognizes so you won't get an LTE signal. They should be able to fix it for you or give them the number from your S4.

I've got the HTC One m7... I'm a little worried about the sound and the display. What are your initial impressions on both?

Just tell the person at the AT&T store to pull an IMEI off of a demo LTE phone and add to your account. Nothing shady about it, they will do it in seconds without hassle. It's the only way you will be provisioned for LTE (the phone is 100% capable of LTE in the US on AT&T). Also, the indicator may say "4g" and that's the same as LTE.

For some reason, AT&T is a special snowflake that requires an actual LTE device IMEI to be listed on your account.

Source: went through this nightmare with an imported Galaxy Nexus before it was in the US. An AT&T branded IMEI officially listed on my account worked just right.

Hope I don't have this issue. Any of you others that have received you phones hook them up yet? I have a nono sim from my old moto x but the phone is deactivated. Can the sim be reused and should I try to use it? I'll be selling this thing before I open it if it's not going g to work right.

I gave them the IMEI of two LTE devices (Lumia 925 and Samsung S4). Neither of these worked. I still see an old flip phone picture on my AT&T account too. Do I need to put this nano sim in a recognized LTE phone? I'm at a loss and the reps are clueless.

I know this is dumb but did you make sure the model numbers were right on the phone?

No question is dumb at this point. Yes, I did double check that with them a few times. I may try and stop at an AT&T store later today (I'll be at a football game for the day, so time is tight).

Reps are usually clueless, have them get tech support on the line. I would try using a Nano Sim from an activated working LTE phone and just pop it into your phone. That's what my plan is, not telling At&t anything unless they officially sell the Z3c.

I never tell them anything and (hence why I had a 2 year old phone on the account atill). In this case, I didn't even think about it. I'm kicking myself right now.

I saw some YouTube videos that suggests you have to manually configure all the APN settings if it doesn't work with certain characters. I hope it's not that involved.

Issue resolved!

Bottom line...do not give these clowns your Xperia IMEI number.

When they entered the IMEI number it flipped my data plan from a grandfathered unlimited plan to a pay-per-use plan with no LTE (why they couldn't figures this out last night, it beats me). He was talking about my wife's plan and her unlimited data. I then noted "mine is unlimited too" and then said it wasn't. You can only imagine how things went from there.

The unrecognized IMEI number automatically switched me off of my plan.

They have me on a temporary 3GB plan, as the support rep couldn't get me back on the unlimited plan. They have to send the change to their back office team and it will take a week to get it back.

My phone now has the 4G icon versus H+.

So, what's the right course of action? Just ask for the nano-SIM?

Yes, which was my original plan. If you already have an LTE phone on your account, just get the nano card, get it activated and leave. Don't change your IMEI number.

Just so I understand. Get a nano sim and tell them to hook up my current phone number which is an LTE number. They don't need to input an IMEI at all?

Correct....as long as you already have an LTE IMEI number on file with them.

Those are some decent speeds. For some reason my server location is showing up in Chattanooga even though I'm closer to Atlanta. I'm getting less than half what you are getting. I'm on an AT&T M8. I have kinda noticed that my iPhone 5S consistently got much better LTE speeds than my M8 does though.
