I have recently purchased a Nexus 5 and noticed that every time I turn it on, it connects to my home wifi but it seems to bring my network down temporarily. Not just wifi, but all my connected computers too. It seems to disrupt some functions (like web browsing) but leaves others working (like Skype). This seems to only happen when it is turned on and then after a few minutes, everything works again.

Has anyone seen this before? The Nexus 5 is running Android 5 and connecting to my network using dynamic DHCP .

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to Android Central! I doubt this would be the issue, but are you sure the DHCP range is wide enough to accommodate all of your devices? For example, if the DHCP range only went from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.4, then you'd only have enough addresses for 4 devices. This might lead to address conflicts, so if you were to connect with a device that was causing a conflict, it might kick off one or more devices from the network.
