I dunno guys, I guess I just got tired of turning the features off on my phone all of the time just to receive decent battery life. I bought the Seidio Innocell extended battery and the results are out of this world lol. My phone runs for three days on heavy use with accounts syncing every hour. Feels good man. My EVO was getting 4-6 hours of battery life before I made the shift. It is awesome that you guys found so many ways to help with the battery tho, I just don't believe that we should have to do this
I love my phone.....but!!!! I would consider myself a heavy user, and my battery life is HORRIBLE. I just don't get how some of you guys can claim battery life in the 10's of hours. I unplug my phone at around 7 every morning, then by 1 or 2 in the afternoon I have to put it on the charger at work. I have a GPS in the car, so never use it on the phone, I do keep the GPS antenna on because I'm prone to losing things and I use lookout mobile for incase I lose my phone. I have all of my syncs (except mail) set to off, manual, or the lowest frequency possible. I never get more than 6 or 7 hours of use. I do have my email client set to every ten minutes, I have to have it set there because I can't push yahoo bizmail. But the 5-7 hours of battery thing is getting old.
I've read through this and other forums and I just don't get the wild differences between some peoples battery life and others. Some claim to get 15-20 hours and still not be bled dry, while others, like me, could only dream of making it through the work day. I have resorted to purchasing an extra battery and a charger that charges the battery outside of the phone. I keep it on my desk, and rather than charging my phone midway through the day I just swap batteries.
This seems to be working for me, but I know the next issue will be that I wear out or break off the tabs on the battery cover.
I'm a bit upset myself too. You could tweak, or turn off as much features as possible - that will only give you a couple more minutes... nothing really noticeable.I am getting horrible battery life only 4 hrs with the phone, I got tired also tweaking different settings . Dont know how people are getting 8-10 hrs on it. I use the phone in a normal way check email , send some txt, calls thats it.
Phone was 100% a 9:00 am and in one hour it has already lost 25% battery .
I finally gave in and ordered the extended battery for my evo. I hope it is as good as everyone says it is
I have the 1750mAh and it work ok for me.Which one did you get? The 3500mAh is the one to buy; the 1750mAh one is not.
Thanks for the tip; I will checking out this Juice-defender.I have been adding the tips from this thread to the Getting Started with Android section on Extending Battery Life. In particular, Juicedefender seems to be the key because it turns things on and off automatically as you need them.
Thanks everyone!
