...Qik...If I sign out (menu/settings/sign out) rather than simply exiting the application, my battery life returned to normal
Yup it was tango. Forced stopped the application...
If you use your phone as a GPS unit you definitely need to use a car charger.
I made the mistake of using a large photo as a wallpaper
I added all of these to the Getting Started with Android - Tips and Tricks, Battery Life Tips and Tricks section.The one setting that makes the biggest difference for me is turning off "always on mobile data".
I installed Juice Defender and Set cpu and seems to be getting a bit more battery life.
Install System Panel monitor your device, some apps need their sync frequencies changed...
Turn 4g off.
Turn wifi on (if you have an access point available).
Set wifi sleep mode to never.
Turn gtalk auto-signin off.
Turn data roaming off.
Turn always-on mobile data off.
Set network mode to CDMA.
Turn off stock sync.
Turn off news sync.
Don't use facebook/friendstream/etc widgets.
I added all of these to the Getting Started with Android - Tips and Tricks too....And i owe it all to my wireless router
