New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

Fired off yet another email due to the lack of response to the one I sent over 4 hours ago...

Still no automated response ( might be a good thing )

i emailed this morning at about 7 am est. I have not received any type of response, human or otherwise. i somehow hope that is good, lol

I just spoke to a customer service supervisor to let him know how frustrated I was with their customer service. I ordered at 11:43 EST and got a backorder notice. The rep said that the three-week delivery time frame wasn't a guarantee exactly, just like the 3-5 day time frame wasn't a guarantee exactly.

What bothers me most about this is the deceit: why let us buy the phones when it was clear they didn't have anything like the stock to meet the demand? Why do I have to talk to some poor minimum-wage earning phone center staffer who has no control over my order? Why doesn't someone higher up in Google apologize for their very deceitful sales practices? When the Nexus Q turned out to be handled badly, they gave them away for free but all we get for this appalling service is free shipping on something that would have shipped free from any other retailer anyway?

At the risk of sounding like an internet troll, I think this video from Catherine Tate best sums up my feelings about Google customer service at this point:

This is a family friendly forum, so I had to remove your video. I feel your frustration though :-\

You may have not noticed that the notification come out the day before it ships. It does not report as soon as the tracking # is created unless that is omething they do for paid accounts. If you have one then I could be wrong. The free one states:
Day Before Delivery Reminder:
Morning of Delivery Alert:
Confirmation of Delivery:
Delivered to UPS Retail Location Alert:

Hmm, well that UPS MyChoice is supposed to work where AS SOON as any shipment label has the address you signed up with, your supposed to get an immediate email notification. Then of course you will get more as the shipment is tracking along. If this is not how it works, then UPS MyChoice is a pretty useless tool, IMO.
I heard someone post that Googe <-> UPS has had some communication problems lately, but if UPS has the label/shipment, then that statement makes 0 sense.

Dunno... sounds like UPS is on the same Google "Notify Me" code... LMAO! (ie. never send an email!)

Canceled mine so I hope I helped you guys lol. Good luck!!!!

2nd Air does not deliver on weekends. They fly it out, therefore, it could probably get to GA today and sit the weekend. Contact your UPS site for more information about your options.

How does that work if it's still in transit? Right now mine says it's in KY, but how do I know it will be here in GA by tomorrow to pick it up??

Mine was leaving Louisville, KY around 12:30 pm today. I'm hoping to pick mine up tomorrow via will call. If it's not in tomorrow I'll pick it up at noon Monday.

Mine was in Louisville, KY at 11:30 am EST today. I live in Louisville. Already looked into a will call and the earliest it will let me select for pickup is Tuesday. Delivery scheduled for Monday.

Ok, just saw those setting on my UPS account. Thanks for the heads up.. So, to that other guy that started the whole 'sign up for UPS MyChoice' isn't right that he stated ANYTHING sent to the address on your account alerts you ASAP. I mean I can just as well log onto UPS's website to check the progress once it's shipped, so kinda makes the whole thing pointless IMO? I care more that something JUST got sent rather than tracking along the way/delivery day. To each his own, but signing up for this service did squat for me.

Yep. Looks like I was incorrect. It's been a while since I had used it and it sounds like the capabilities of the free account aren't as robust as I remember them being.

The best thing about the free UPS my choice is that you can electronically sign for packages that need a signature or cannot be left even with a note.

I think that guy may have the paid service. I signed up last night although I had a confirmation number to see if it would work for others who were in limbo. It worked for me but, I already knew my device was coming. More or less, it gave people one more thing to check just in case they didn't get the email. I believe at least one person got the UPS email and had heard nothing from Google.

However, I only received the intial email from UPS nothing this morning and the truck should be here within the hour. I guess it's an all around fail.

I'm trying to curb my addiction and only refresh my GooglePlay/Wallet/AndroidCentral pages every half hour. The first step is admitting there's a problem.

Please, for the sake of injuring you're texting or gaming fingers, back away from the keyboard!:D Hoping all those who are in limbo receive some good news by the evening.
