I don't have them on my phone. I'm sure the phone didn't update itself. I did a battery pull last night cause I was having a problem with the xfinity app. Weird. Oh well I guess I don't really need the update. Seems like everyone is having problems with it. Maybe I'll root and install a rom.

The new update installed a bunch of garbage games on my G4, like Panda Pop, Clash of Kings, etc. Check your apps!
Yes I got those too on Verizon. Uninstalled all but panda pop which I am enjoying. Mary
I'm on Verizon and did not get any crapware installed with my update.
Contrary to what others have said about their phones slowing down, mine seems snappier. NOT at all slower for me. For those having problems, a hard reset may be in order.
EDIT: As for the push notification problem, I AM having that issue while connected to WiFi. However, it isn't a serious issue for me as I usually have email sync turned off to save battery.

Those not getting junk apps, do you perhaps have DT Ignite debloated or disabled? From what I understand, that is an app that quietly installs junk on your phone.

I have the issue with my gmail not syncing over WiFi. This is a no good.
Really!? Last time I was on the forums root was just getting started. I guess no one was able to get Verizon g4 going? That's pretty sad.The Verizon version of the G4 doesn't have any development at all on the XDA forums.

For those with problems with Wi-Fi notifications, it seems to be a ipv6 bug and the way to fix it is to disable ipv6. One way to do that is to use a VPN which will disable ipv6 and use ipv4. The other way is for those without root, you can fix this issue without root by using the app DNSet from the Google Play store. You hit 1 button (the one and only button), and it turns off IPv6, and problem solved.
