Polls have shown the sweet spot for cell phones is $200, Virgin knows it. Even Apple knows it, this is why all phones are subsidized down to that level or more for contract phones.
Virgin can get a bit more and did so with the Blackberry, but it was the first and only smartphone they offered. With them already having 2 android phones, trying to sell a $300 phone, much less a $350 one would be a hard sell unless it was a high end phone. Prepaid or not, not many will pay $350 for a mid level phone. My guess is that it will probably peak at about $250 or so, maybe $300, but I doubt it. Over $300 and I would predict it to be dead on arrival.
That depends.
A rooted and overclocked OV runs about the same as a stock OV running at 1gig (the bloat is equal to 150-200mhz, no kidding). The Triumph is a 1gig phone and you can bet it will have a bunch of junk on it, just like the stock OV does.
So yes, in stock form it rips all over the stock OV, but what if they can't root it? At that point, my nice OV is about on par with it. The only serious advantage will be if this thing can handle flash, which would be nice to have at times, but really, you don't need it.
IF they price this around $200 and someone unlocks it (or it comes with no bloat, fat chance!), I'll consider it. Otherwise, I will stick with my OV. It's rooted, paid for and does what I want.
Are you kidding,in no way will the processor in the V compare or even come close to the snapdragon 1 ghz processor in the Triumph, bloatware removed or overclocked or not, that is just one of the craziest statements i have heard, you V fanboys have to face reality, this phone rooted or not will out perform the V hands down.and the only thing it has over th V is flash you need to read the specs of the Triumph again. The V is a nice entry level phone, but in terms of smartphones it is outdated..
