News on 4.4.x update for the Droid Maxx (No clear date still)

I see the Droid DNA is getting the 4.4.2 update before us. Hopefully we get the next update soon.

I'm pretty sure that the 2012 Droids are getting the update before the 2013 Droids. It's a good thing for both phones, actually, as I think the DNA and the 2012 Droids were on 4.1.1 so were vulnerable to reverse heartbleed. We've had kitkat for months, one of the first devices to get it, so I find it hard to complain myself.

Yea, I just saw that too and got over here to the Droid forums to see what was up with that! I wonder why they didn't give the DNA 4.4 first too if security was an issue. So they're going straight from 4.1 to 4.4.2?

I've had 4.4 for quite a while now with no problems.....

No DNA had 4.2.2 before it's update to kitkat not 4.1

It's been asked, and at the beginning of April it was answered that it's delayed by last minute Verizon requirements for "a number of weeks". Hopefully by the end of may then.

I'm not sure if this is it, but I know that there is a bug in 4.4 where at some point, randomly, trying to share something in any app will only share it using one app in your share intents, and not let you choose another. So, for example, if you are looking at a photo and hit share it will just share it to Instagram, say, and won't let you choose another app. You can fix this by going into settings / apps, tapping the overflow menu, and tapping "reset app preferences". It doesn't happen to everybody - it's never happened to me - but it's a known 4.4 bug.

So, I jinxed myself. It happened to me a couple of days ago.

One annoying apparent side-effect of resetting app preferences is that any apps that you have disabled become re-enabled again. At least that's what happened to me.

So, I don't care if it's called 4.4 or 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 or 4.4.9, I just want bugs like this and like the home button bug fixed asap. I'm now in the camp that it's annoying that it's taking so long to get these annoying bugs fixed.

I have a weird bug that only happens now and then. I will go to a text conversation and when I open it up it crashes. It seems to involve an MMs message in the window. I delete the thread and it works ok. But to get it to work I have to delete all my text to that person. Very annoying.

That happened to me once when I first got the phone last august. It hasn't happened since. I have been using Hangouts for messaging since the kitkat update, though.

Soak tests going out per droid life. Speculation is that it's 4.4.2.

Well, it looks like Motorola is doing a soak test for the Droid MAXX and Ultra. Looks like our, update might be right around the corner.
