I have noticed that the the nexus 6p lags a lot on cellular networks (3G/4G), but not its buttery smooth on wifi. Most of the apps lag and stutter.
Dont know why? I s anybody else facing the same issue?

Mine has a difficult time switching between the 4g/3g and my network extender.

No, I haven't seen any issues on cellular data. I'm on cellular data 99%of the time. If your phone is lagging that much I would either reset the phone, or reboot it at least.

Not experiencing any problems either on mobile data or wifi. Could be your cellular radio hardware is broken. Only way to test that I guess is to try someone else's SIM from a different carrier if a reset doesn't resolve it.

I was wondering if I was going crazy, lot of apps are lagging on my new 6p that were fast on my 2014 Moto X. I think I may have a bad radio, might send it back before the 14 days are up and get a new one. At this point, I'm having a bit of buyers remorse that I shouldn't have with this phone.

I have had 0 issues with the 6P. As a matter of fact the 6P is the first Android phone I've ever had with 0 lag.

How many apps do you have loaded on your phone? How much memory is being used on average?

I initially started with 100+ apps downloaded and experienced the same lag you seem to be talking about. My average memory use for 3 hours was always around 2.4-2.5GB. I uninstalled a bunch of apps I never use and uninstalled Facebook which was a huge memory hog and downloaded Metal instead. Phone seems much snappier now and no more lag/stuttering that I had the first few days.

Same. Had Sammy Notes before - they lag a little out of the box and a year later they lag a bunch. Loving the 6p no problems with lag, audio or anything now.

Apps might not be optimized for MM, so that could be the issue for that.

I'm using exactly the same apps that I used on my 2014 Moto X. No big standouts in the memory log.

No lag whatsoever with mine on LTE. Really heavy websites load a touch faster on good WiFi, that's about it and not unexpected. Lag/choppiness never happens though.

Well coming home last night, I was frustrated as hell because "OK Google" wouldn't recognize anything. I was all set to return and after a reboot (not my first) everything is working great. Things are faster, lag free, and ok google is working again as expected. I'm a little worried actually, this doesn't help me make my decision about whether this is a defective unit or not.

I always do a reboot at the first sign of any trouble. Like lag or app crash, etc. Plus, I do a reboot once a week regardless. Not to say you shouldn't post on here for such issues, but you should at very least being doing that before even posting something that people spend time on and reading to help.

I think there might be a memory leak in marshmallow the way there was in lollipop. The Nexus 6p is the fastest phone I have ever used (from a lag-free UI perspective) but I do feel like I need to reboot every few days (once a week probably) to keep it that smooth.

I'm pretty sure updates will help.

I can't say this applies here, I've only rebooted it once in the 2 weeks I've had it and that was on day 1 because I do it out of habit after loading all my new apps on a new phone. Been excellent the entire time.

Do you have an anti-virus app running? Uninstalling McAfee stopped the lag and stutters on my 6p.

I do use an antivirus, I'll try uninstalling it. Been using Lookout.

It's funny, sometimes apps respond instantly when I tap the icon, other times there's a half beat of delay.

If I can't figure it out in the next day or two, it's going back and I'm getting a new one.
