Re: Battery Life

LOL...am trying to figure out why MY battery drains fast (well, faster than it used to). brightness at about 45%, auto off...

Re: Battery Life

I don't think it matters that much in this case what the screen brightness is set at. Your screen was on for only 15 minutes, was responsible for almost half of the 35% battery drain, which means it used up 17% of battery. Even if the screen was at 100%, it shouldn't use up more than a percent per minute. I wonder if your battery is starting to have problems--how old is the tablet? Did you get it new or used?

The other thing is that you keep your wifi on all the time. This could lead to various apps accessing the web and refreshing data frequently, depending on their settings--and if those apps are malfunctioning, they could be accessing the web too often, which can lead to battery drain. Have you considered keeping wifi off until you need it?

Re: Battery Life

bought new a few months ago. so...will try turning wifi off until i need it, see how that goes. thanx for your help!

Re: Battery Life

And you're sure it wasn't a refurbished model?

Re: Battery Life

funny, i actually bought a refurbished N7 on ebay; it was supposed to come in a 'plain brown package'. it came in a N7 box, sealed. the dealer said they shipped a new N7 to me by mistake (they'd shipped their last refurbished one just prior to shipping mine). so..."new". (packaging WAS sealed, everything wrapped, etc). in that respect, i lucked out.

added a wifi toggle widget to my home screen; off until i need it. will see how things go...

EDIT: the battery drain only recently started to go faster... (was fine first couple of months)...

Re: Battery Life

followup! 2pm today, at 92%, wifi off. by 9pm...90% (wifi still off, and no usage). so...seems ok. one thing i will miss: "unlock with wifi", so i never need to input my password when i'm at home (to get in to my N7). but a reasonable tradeoff. thanks b.diddy (and kudos for your mystery science 3000 avatar)...

Re: Battery Life

Ah, always good to hear from a fellow MST3K fan ...

Re: Battery Life

interesting, that, several days later, am seeing the most minimal battery drain (for example, have not used my N7 at all today, and it still shows charged...about 13 hours after i unplugged the charger)...

Re: Battery Life

I've seen that kind of variation as well sometimes. Android works in mysterious ways ...
