Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

I have the same issue as most in this thread, but again I wouldnt have noticed it if I didnt read this thread. I just worry its going to get worse. Guess ill give it a few days....

I have the glass separation on the left side too. Display assembly must not be
putting enough adhesive for a good bond or something. Phone # to call is on your shipping invoice.

No such problems here yet. Will keep an eye on it and report back any changes. Hope you get a new unit shortly.

Got my 16gb N7 yesterday from my Play Store preorder.

-Screen is fine, with no glass separation.
-No creaking.
-No dead/stuck pixels.
-No brightness issue.
-No ghosting.

The only oddity I noticed is that there was a small bit of what appears to be red wax of some sort in between the tablet and the plastic cover it came in. It looked like a small BB-sized chunk of red chapstick or something had gotten in between the plastic and the edge of the tablet. Didn't smudge onto it and didn't have any specific smell. There were also a few smudges on the screen itself, almost as if someone had unwrapped it, touched it (got the red stuff on it) and then put the same plastic wrap back on it.

Everything works fine and I'm having ZERO issues with it, and it's in mint condition from I can visually tell. Super happy with it and I seriously cannot put it down. So glad that it's a slow work day so I can customize it and get everything situated.

My n7 makes a ticking noise when I touch the left side. My wife's nexus is fine.

Potential fix for glass separation!

Hey guys, this was posted by "Emily Chu" on NeoGAF as a potential fix for Nexus 7 glass separation problems, please read and check it out, it seems like a simple fix! I'm at work right now so I cannot try this myself, but if any brave soul is willing to do it, it could potentially fix our problems. I attached her images below:

I was getting downright depressed, the left side of my 7's screen was becoming very loose and creeky from the silver lining.

Was going to exhanged it at my gamestop they told me they only had enough for preorders
I visited Ifixit and saw that there were some screws inside where the loose side of the screen was. could that be the problem ?

they had this 2.99$ opener thingy but I was like hmm **** that just carefully gentlely nudged the backside with my fingernails and lo and behold....
tighten up the screws a bit all around NO MORE CREEKY TY LOOSE SCREEN ON THE LEFT SIDE!!!! tight as a button
wtf asus and google and china.......

OMG.... back cover was just a shell..... zero internals
I also liked how there was no "this may void your warranty" stickers that connected the two shells together....
now if there was a way to hack a mirco sd card slot and rear camera in there.... hmm...... the plot thickens.....
hell there even seems to be a slot for a rear camera for **** sakes.... .

oooh. very promising. can't wait to go home and try it.

i will probably end up loctiting those screws in place...

if anyone else tries it, post results please! :)

Just got mine yesterday and noticed same thing...definitely gonna try when I get home this evening. Will post results afterwards.

Same thing. Just did it myself and it totally fixed it. It was incredibly easy

Why mess with it? Just get a new one from Google. They will send a new one and then you send the original one back. You don't have to be without one. That's what I'm doing. I don't care how simple the "fix" might be to DIY.

Well some of us didn't buy from Google and Google or not the wait is easily two weeks or more in the meantime we can fix it on our own
