Hmm. Seems like the most negative hands-on I've read about the device. But that's fine. The author is entitled to his opinions.

Looks like the iPad is still dominating most benchmarks according to that review. The 2013 iPad Air did as well. The gap isn't as wide this year though thanks to the switch to the K1. When I last saw the benchmarks between the 2013 iPad Air and the nvidia shield tablet with the 32 bit K1, the Shield was dominant.

My 1st impression is it feels just like the black soft touch Nexus 5, feels just like it even the buttons and glossy rim, also a close to 300mb update when you 1st load up and put in your WiFi settings

Both favor the IPad Air 2. I've never had an Apple anything before, but I'm leaning that way now. I like the bigger screen on the IPad too. I didn't really feel like bothering to learn a new system (tho they tell me it's no big deal) and new aps and whatever, but...

I find that the Verge is very negative a lot of time... That's just my opinion although I've heard others with similar complaints about the Verge's reviews.

The phonearena review is very positive, the only real "con" was an average camera. Benchmarks were good beating out the Air 2 on some and losing other, display they loved and the battery life blew everything else out of the water.
