Nexus positive and negative

The ones near me didn't have them. I would like to get at least 4.5 hours plus sot. In the turbo forum people seem to think the battery is get better for them after the first week or so.

Battery usually does get better over time, new out the box you are going to use it more often than you will a month later as the new wears off.. Most reviews I've read say the Nexus 6 gets between 3 - 5 hours of screen on time and all have the same disclaimer that "your results may differ" Depends on how you use it and what is running when you have the screen on... web browsing on WiFi is going to get better battery life vs playing a 3D high intense graphics game while in a weak signal area....

the Nexus 5 has what I would call below average battery life.... but I work behind a desk 9 hours a day so I keep it on the wireless charger probably 1/2 the day... but I couldn't even come close to going from getting out of bed until getting home from work on a single charge.... So in that regard from what I am reading this should be an amazing upgrade...

Can someone take a picture of nexus 6? I want to see how fit in hand..

My hand when stretched out measures 8 1/2 inches from the edge of my thumb to the edge of my pinkie finger and I could easily use the phone with one hand... I could Swipe to type the entire keyboard without having to adjust the phone.. I could reach the back button and even each the top of the phone to pull down the status bar.... But it was at the very edge of my reach... It would probably still be "Safe" to use two hands when making those extreme reaches....

So you think their batteries and phones aren't optimizing at all?

I know It will blow me away when I fire it up compared to my s4.

I just hope the feeling will last.

I wouldn't say its not optimized, I just think it could be better optimized and I'm sure they will optimize it even more in the future (I'm only talking about the battery). The software is already amazing but I'm sure they can improve it even more.

How the midnight blue look? More like black?

The back looked black not blue... but then the band around the edge of the device had a light blue tint to it..... You had to look real close to tell it was blue.....

MKBHD and The verge said u can see the rainbow on the display and the color shift a bit. Have u notice this?

Is it just me or is that REALLY nitpicking? I watched his video and noticed he said something like only at extreme angles. Why would you even be looking at your phone at extreme angles?

Yeah I was only looking at the demo unit straight on! 6 inches is a big phone but not big enough extreme angles are any concern......

I want to try to keep this objective....
Now that I played with one for 20 minutes:

Nexus advantages:
Biggest screen
On screen buttons
Two speakers
Pure lollipop
Feels great in the hand
Wireless charging

Negatives:
Single antenna. No voice and data unless VoLTE.
Screen not at bright and colorful as note 4
Camera ok, but slow with HDR on
Opening gallery is incredibly slow (at least 5 seconds to show Thumbnails - what was that about?)
No multi-window
No stylus
Only Android Wear, no Gear with speaker phone.

I really don't know what I'm going to do about my order. If Motorola doesn't charge a restocking fee, I might give it a chance.

Your forgot to add that the Nexus 6 is water resistant.

I feel that battery life should be a negative. The reviews all mention that its average and doesn't compare to current flagships. MKBHD, someone most people seem to trust, just had his review and he says the same thing - its not very good. But its going to last 1 day easily so if that's all you care about, its not an issue.

Something people don't realize is Nexus phones aren't very optimized because they lack many proprietary drivers which Google can't get or won't pay for. e.g. the hw encryption chip in the 805 is not used. TouchWiz gets great battery life inspite of all its bloat because they use the latest drivers for Qualcomm components, and Nexus doesn't.

It's why battery is so subjective! Easily going one day on a single charge is a big positive for me specially on a phone this size yet appears that you consider a negative! I have no problem if you believe that's not enough! I'd venture to say it's close to a 50/50 split that a full day is awesome or not!

I somewhat agree. Its a negative in the sense that you expect a phablet, esp a really big one, to have excellent battery life due to large size, and last for ~2 days in average use, like the Note/Dropd Maxx/Turbo etc. I think 'lasts 1 day' is a criteria met my many normal phones as well.

I'm more concerned with screen on time, 3hours shouldn't be accepteptable on a battery that size.

If the phone can last full day + turbo charger shouldn't be a problem for me...

Battery life is just going to be so vastly different from one user to the next! Single day from 7am - 11pm with say 3+ hours screen on is actually great for my use! I'll charge every night! But I wish we could get all week battery life like I remember getting with my old LG flip phone.... The bad is we've kind of accepted the battery life as a trade off for all the features!

Can these turbo chargers be purchased separate from the phone anywhere? I'd like to have two of them.
What about what MKBHD said about wireless charging? I can't believe that it did not work for him. That is one of the reasons why I wanted this phone.

I'm 8 hours in on my nexus 5 with 2 hours screen on so far and I'm at 12%... that's bad battery life...

Motorola charges $35 for a turbo charger!

I hope my TYTL wireless chargers work...
