I have just purchased a new Nokia C22 phone. I am slowly getting familiar with it. When I am on a call, the screen keeps changing, adverts etc. I have to keep pressing the back arrow to return to the key pad etc, Is there anything in settings to prevent this,

Welcome.

Have you installed any third-party apps yet? If so, that might be the culprit. Booting into Safe Mode is the test of that possibility - if the trouble stops while in Safe Mode, such an app is the cause.

If you haven’t installed any apps, it’s a different matter.

Thank you for your replies. The adverts seem to have stopped. I have had Samsung Galaxy phones before this Nokia, and I always had the Yahoo mail app on these phones to access my emails. I have opened play store, typed Yahoo Mail, and it says "This app won't work for your device", so I cannot install it.

It's probably because your phone runs Android Go, which is the stripped-down version of Android designed for low-spec phones. Android Go won't be compatible with certain apps.

I have opened Settings > About phone, and it is showing Android version 13. I have tried a couple of alternatate apps, and I have to go a roundabout way to access my Yahoo emails.

I have just powered off the phone, turned it back on, and as it was booting up it said "go edition". You are correct, I guess that I will have to make do with an alternative app.
