NOTE 20 Unlocked How To Get RCS And Carrier Features

Hey Mustang,

I am thinking about turning in my S20+ for either a Note 20 Ultra or an new S21 Ultra.

Tmobile tech rep said DO NOT get an unlocked phone as they are not optimized for the carrier. Interesting that the Tmobile store I frequent called this BS!
What is your advice? I like the way unlocked phones have additional software features carriers do not. Should I get unlocked and use this method for carrier features on Tmobile?
Will it adversely affect my signal or reception?

Note Ultra better than S21 in your Opinion?

Thank you!

Unlocked with Tmobile , you get Wi-Fi calling, reception is very good , do the RSC trick and you'll have that in stock Samsung message app .
Between those 2 devices the Note I would choose, I stop buying the S series since s10+ , nothing wrong with them just perfect the Note line. But yeah don't worry for Tmobile on unlocked models works very good .

Thanks for the advice!

Will this method also work on the s20+?

Volte symbol in upper right corner , I never seen that on t-mobile sim on unlocked version , you have carrier unlocked phone or Samsung unlocked version , difference in model number at the end is U or U1 ?

Samsung unlocked U1 version. I have sprint but I'm using t-mobile's towers, If that makes sense.

I have the Unlocked on T mobile and flashed with T mo. Firmware... I do not have the settings you have however I have what I believe is a water down version of RCS here is some pics of my messages settings
How would I get RCS back? I'm not sure how long I'm gonna be able to use a sprint sum card.

On the unlocked you can flash the Tmobile carrier version csc only in Odin to get rcs but before you can update to next security update you'll need to flash back to unlocked csc ..which takes only minutes .

From a few years ago are there any benefits to flashing the carrier csc outside of getting rcs to work?

Just rcs , video calling , some carrier features that wasn't available on unlocked, but Google messages takes care that so no I don't see any benefits
