Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

It is just something interesting that might be coming out for TMO and you won't need unlimited.

Again, my girlfriend asked me to switch back to an iPhone. I said nope, baby I can't do it. Then we take a selfie together with my phone. I say "smile" and the picture snaps. She says to me, "I need that in my life." LOL, women.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Obviously iMessage is a big plus for me. I'm not going to lie. I miss the Note 5. When I have the iPhone I miss the note 5 and when I had the Note 5 I missed having an iPhone. It's a no win situation. Another huge plus is that my carrier enabled wifi calling in the iPhone when iOS 9 came out which I need at home. I have always missed calls over the years. Big burden on my business. Look at my screen shot. Terrible signal here. If Rogers had wifi calling for the Note 5 or android in particular I might switch lol.

I always had bad signal with AT&T and for a while with T-Mobile. Not having a land line, a good signal was necessary. I ended up getting boosters from my carrier. Now TMO just finished a tower near me and I don't need a booster with them anymore.

I just ordered a booster for my home as well. But,T-Mobile has been increasing- coverage in my area pretty regularly.

The TMO booster is great, if you ordered the LTE one and not the WiFi one. Mine started giving me an error of E8 which is my signal is too strong for a booster, which is great.

Before the tower, I got like 5 Mbps download, with the booster, around 30 Mbps.. Huge difference. One of our admin/mods has a thread on it, let me see if I can find it.

That's so awesome.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I just read that T-Mobile is releasing an LTE booster. How is that one different from the one I just ordered?

The one they are releasing is like the AT&T one, but LTE.

It is like a mini cell tower that is dependent on a high speed Internet connection.

I've had both types, but the AT&T one being 3G, which the TMO one is better. I'll tell you the pros and cons, ignoring the AT&T one was 3G.

The booster..

Pros:
It is only dependent on electricity.
You can take it when you travel.
It works well to boost a low signal and any TMO user in the house can use it.

Cons:
Honestly in my time of using it I've not found any, it has worked perfectly for me.

The new one:

Pros:
Say you have great TMO service everywhere but zero at your house..you can have service with this.

You do not have to be dependent on WiFi calling, texting and data when you have no signal at your location.

Cons:

It is dependent on high speed Internet and electricity. If your Internet goes down, so does your signal.

While it is physically portable, again, you have to have access to the router to connect it. The booster above works better for us at the lake, we don't have Internet there.

Now the above is assuming it is the same as the microcell other cell spots. If your LTE signal is really weak, you might get a bump in speed with just the booster, but either the new one, you should be able to get even faster speeds. The booster took me from about 5 Mbps to about 20-30 Mbps most of the time.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I saw some users were having freezing issue on there note 3, myself included. I think I found the solution.
Go to your settings and turn off smart view. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure which one they are sending me. It says 4G LTE signal booster.

The 4G LTE Booster (like my thread) boosts the actual cell signal into the house that it is snagging from a window. The one they released a day ago or whatever rides on your internet connection so -- if the internet goes down so does that booster. With the one I wrote the thread about it actually is still using the cell tower so even if my internet dies I can still get LTE and be fine.

You should be getting the same one that Almeuit and I both have, the window booster unit.

Having used both types, but the microcell being 3G, I still prefer the window unit booster to the microcell.

If you have signal at your house, the booster should be fine for you. I would imagine the TMO microcell uses GPS in addition to the Internet, just like the AT&T one does for E911, with the booster you enter the address of your booster location on your account.

One issue I had with the microcell and booster both.. My city uses 311 to call the city non-emergency number. I never got my city dialing 311 using the booster or microcell.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

OK thanks. I was hoping that got the same ones that you two have.
