Walhalla:

Found it. Thanks. I swore up and down I would never order from them again but I did. That was just too big of a "possible" refund not to try. My phone is perfect. Will take pictures of it working before I send it back in. Thanks again. I hope I don't eat my words before this is over.

I've never ordered directly from Samsung but getting $425 trade-in for my note 5 seems too tempting to pass up. Has anyone ever gone thru Samsung's 24 month payment plan though? I'm concerned if I go that route that I am truly locked in for two years, as opposed to being eligible for upgrade after 12 months. only paying for 12 months without the trade-in is still cheaper than paying $500+( what I owe after the trade-in). Any idea if this would restrict me from upgrading in 12 months for the note 9 thru T-Mobile? thanks in advance!!

To trade in my iPhone 7 Plus 128gb or not and get the $425 note 7 owner deal....I already ordered on AT&T but willing to cancel that and order with samsung. AT&T is charging me $75~ of tax, where Samsung doesn’t it seems.

I am going to confirm this with AT&T, but if you did the Next plan, this really isnt a huge help, I suppose...

I owe about $400 on my Next plan to pay off my S7 Active, so I have to pay that off before I can send in my phone to Samsung and get the $425 off. So, then I pay the $525 to Samsung... I am out $925... saving $25.

I understand that I wont have any more Next plan payments, but there doesn't appear to be a huge savings here.

Am I missing something?

I think the thing is you have to compare it to what you would do normally without this offer

$400 + $950 = $1350

They are not really discounting the Note 8, more like paying off your "temp" device and getting you back on a Note.

Agreed.. but the $400 or so I already paid is lost, so its a wash. I just as soon do the Next plan again at full price, because AT&T will give me the same amount on trade there.

Its worth noting that I did the 1 yr. trade in Next plan.... so, I go to AT&T, trade my S7Active, the remaining amount ($400) is paid off and I get the Note8. Not much difference. I guess thats the point.

Unless you were on a two year, then they are giving you an amazing discount! :)

but would you be locked into a two year plan with Samsung vs being upgrade eligible in 12 months? having to pay 24 months even on a discounted price isn't much of an advantage over being able to trade in hassle free in 12 months for the note 9 with your carrier, right? trying to make sure I know what my best option is here lol

For me, I was already in a two year contract. I bought my phone outright, no contract. So that's how it worked out as a discount for me. I don't really know how it works for people paying monthly because I don't mess with those payment plans. Sorry I can't be of help.

Actually... with the Next plan, you are not truly locked in to a contract. You can pay off the phone and upgrade at any time... same with Samsung. At the end of the day, I still pay the $900 and can upgrade in a year.

What criteria? My screen isn't cracked, neither is the back. Only a few dead pixels...
it means it has to be in very good condition no deep scratches no dings no cracked screens no dead pixels it's got to be good enough that they could resell it that's how that works and they might give you 4:25 for it but if you owe 600 on it you're going to still be liable for that $200 so doesn't really sound fair to all of us who go through other carriers to order that phone I had the Note 7 to I've been through two other phone since the Note 7 because of them taking my Note 7 back I've not been happy either so what happens to us who don't go through Samsung mobile? Honestly It's not fair.

WoW. Seems very specific. That's an easy fix for me though. I'm just going to get my S7 replaced for free through Sprint and keep it in good shape for some weeks. It'll be giving them a brand new phone! LoL

Yeah. I get their logic, but it wasn't necessarily executed in the best manner. I don't think they really did this to be unfair. I hope something shakes out to make you pleased as a customer.
