Note 8 to iPhone X?

Samsung's sales cover the entire range from lowest Galaxy J to the Note. Model for model, there are more iPhones than Galaxy S.

For example in 2017, the S7 and S7 Edge sold a total 55 million units as of May (1 year after release). However, for the iPhone 7 and 7+, as of January, 3 mos after release, it already broke past 78 million units number of sold units.

There are more people using Androids, but that doesn't mean any Android company is outselling Apple by itself. And we're only talking about flagships here. We don't count Samsung's lower end numbers. And this is accounting that there was no Note last year, so the Note buyers either went with an S7 variant or another brand.

We'll have to wait for this year's numbers, but historically, iPhones sell more than any Android flagship model individually, even if Android as a whole sells more.

Apparently this is not true and Samsung has sold over 100 million more then apple and we are apple closet fans trying to get ppl to buy a iPhone lol

I just traded my Note 8 for an 8+ (shudder!!) but I didn't think the X was ready for prime time. I wanted to give Apple a decent try this year to see if I like it. If they make an X+ or Xs or whatever the #*$* they want to call it next year, I may give that a shot. Right now just not interested in using my ugly face as the only way to buy an app or pay for my coffee, and it's just too new of a tech to rely on 100 percent.....

Lol. I get the sarcasm. But some might not. Here's the sources:

IPhone 7 and 7+ sells 78million units by Jan 2017;

Samsung S7 and S7 Edge together sells 55 million units by May 2017

For a totally new untested model they are charging alot. This may be a transitional phone with that notch a big question mark along with face recognition. I say let the guinea pigs run with it awhile before plopping down more than a grand for that thing.

I have been using iPhone from 4S, then to 6 and then to 7plus ....and I was expecting more from them for the 8 and for the X. iOS 11 happens to be a huge disappointment for me. And I happen to be a huge fan of Note 5 as well. I was contemplating to move out of 7 plus to either X or Note 8... and finally made the decision to move all to Android and Note 8. Will I go back? No.

It's not a silly question to ask at all! A lot of users here use multiple lines and some have iPhones; or they pop their SIM cards into an iPhone every once and a while and off they go! :)

The X is definitely a departure from what iPhone has done in the past. I admit that, though it's not my cup of tea, there are some innovative things about it and it is a worthwhile purchase for many. It can definitely compete with the best.

All that being said, are you not interested in the iPhone 8?

No, I don't have any interest in the 8 as I already have a 7 Plus.

Ha ha see there are people in the world who can depart with the Note 8. I'm interested to try the smaller form factor on an iPhone which is why I ordered an X. I currently have a 7 Plus and it's just too wide. I like that the Note 8 is not as wide. The iPhone X will be the smallest phone, in terms of form factor, that I've owned in a while.

I will keep the note 8 for sure but I will also try the X when it comes out. I Carry two phones the note and blackberry keyone let's see of Apple can get me back but I doubt it.

Nobody cares how many Galaxy J's were sold. We're only talking flagships.

Nice try, but there's a few 170 million folks that buy the j and a phones in Emerging Markets that do care. An it adds to the bottom line at Samsung. We all know apple sells a ton of iPhone . Not sure why it's relitive . Hell McDonald's sells a lot of burgers too but there nasty as hell (iPhone) i rather have a premium burger (notes 8) for my money.

I completely agree. I think a lot of people coming from the plus models will be disappointed with the screen size. I thought about picking one up to go along with my note but the screen size has me worried. Going to hold off a bit.
I completely agree with this. Having held the case of the X in hand I really do believe it's going to feel like a smaller screen because of the narrowness. Not to mention having to get use to the smaller form factor again.

They sold over 100 million more then apple ? Lol ok Bru if u say so this guy

We believe you, but the other forum member was talking about flagship Samsung phones.

We know Samsung sells more phones overall. We're talking about flagships. Apple sells more iPhones than Samsung sells Galaxy S or Notes. Not including the Galaxy Js, As, Cs, and others. Just the S and Note series.

Apple only sells flagships ...duh . So of course there gonna sell the most popular flagships. Not sure why that's relavent an I sure as hell don't make it any thing close to the note 8 just saying. Sorry but most of us note 8 owners know better an don't drink the apple juice .....😉 By the way I still have my old iPhone 5 as a momento to remind me why I don't want another iPhone ... not much has changed get my drift

No, the number of Galaxy Js sold in the world has no bearing in this conversation. The Js were never meant to compete against the iPhone. Even if the Galaxy Notes and S didn't exist, the Js would still sell the same number. Or even if the Galaxy Js did not exist, iPhones will still sell the same number. We're only talking about Galaxy S series/Notes vs iPhone as alternatives. No one is as stupid as to compare a Galaxy J to an iPhone of the same year. No one will switch from an iPhone 7+ to a J7 2017.

Plus nice try ignoring the posts were I posted the numbers of iPhones vs Galaxy S sold. iPhones outsell Galaxy S. Period. That doesn't make them better. I would never use an iPhone. But that doesn't change facts.

Yep there selling older models is right . Old iPhone 6 for $200 I'll pass can get a used s7 for little more . Used iPhone 6 on eBay are 130 just more apple juice being sold to the uninformed

And the topic was never supposed to be about sells . The topic matter was would you sell are trade your note 8 for the XX . Some how you apple Knight always try to bring up sells into equation. As if that justifies lesser phones over the note 8 my opinion of course 😉😉

Dude you were the one who opened up the topic about sells in the first place. I was responding as to how what someone else was true that despite everything that makes the Note 8 better than the iPhone, the iPhone will still sell more than the Note 8. I mentioned that it's because in the Android world, we have choice among LG, Samsung, Pixel etc. So the market is divided. Then you swoop in to say that what we said is false because Samsung sold more, showing that you clearly did not understand our comments that it was restricted to Note 8 and iPhone.

No one says that it makes the iPhone better. We in the conversation understood that. You're the only one who didn't. I would never buy an iPhone. And saying the truth doesn't make me an Apple Knight, whatever that is. It's called stating facts. And was never intended to change your opinion. It was intended ti correct your error in understanding the conversation.
