Note 9 SD card sideloads /firmware how to.

So, that's one of the crappy parts. I can't get into the regular download mode. When I do the correct key combination, (Vol down + Bixby + power), it gives me the regular prompt, volume up to continue, volume down to cancel, and when I hit volume up to continue, it just goes back to that "An error has occurred..." message. I can't seem to get to the regular download mode.
Ok so you can't get into recovery

Try get another Android 10 file
What exactly happened that you in this position?

If your in download mode in the blue screen area and it shows the error you can still Odin from there, what i would do try different port usb , also try different usb cord .

So, that's the odd part. I got that firmware file from the reddit link (which, maybe it's for the wrong phone or something), and tried flashing it with the Odin 3.13 B, and the very first time it tried to flash, it failed. Not once has it worked, and I've tried two different firmware downloads. The one from Reddit, and one posted earlier in this thread. It's odd, because lots of people are saying that they've gotten both to work.

After the first time that the flash failed, I got stuck in this error loop. Ruben is right, though; in this mode, Odin can still attempt to flash to the device. It just keeps failing, which almost makes me wonder if something else is wrong. I'm trying to download another firmware package. The big issue is that the only one listed on sammobile for the AT&T Note 9 seems to be Android 8.1, which is way father back than I had even before this entire process.

8.1 att from sammobile wont flash it's a way older bootloader. Att firmware is harder to find .
If it fails the moment you hit start , that's from number of reasons such as wrong firmware, wrong odin etc...yours failed 3/4 leads me to believe its corrupt that firmware as its happened to me and just had to find another and load it .

You can flash another carrier like Verizon or tmobile firmware because all carriers firmware are interchangeable but there a catch if att wasn't on the same build number as the others you would have to use Odin again to update to next as it might not get the OTA

Ok, I honestly cannot thank you guys enough for all the help that you've given me. It's very late (do you guys sleep? lol. Worked out well for me.) but here I sit, with my phone recovered because of an update that you guys posted to this or another thread earlier (and I'm now on the June patch, rather than the April that I was before) and ALL OF MY DATA IS INTACT! I think that perhaps it was a combination of bad update files and even a bad USB port; it failed at a later stage, so I switched the port and it ended up working. NUTS!

So, I owe you all big. Thank you so very much for all that you do in general, and all that you've done to help me. I wish I could return the favor!

Your welcome!, thank you Ruben for the files
Look forward to seeing you around the forums , pleasure to help .

Note9 rolled out today OneUI 2.1, i already have it on my AT&T Note9 since yesterday. So check your software updates

To get this, Verizon Note 9, do we have to use Odin or flash from an SD card?
Sorry guys, haven't done much phone /flash stuff lately.

Hello, around +1 year ago you were so kind as to assist me with upgrading my Note 9, I was able to bring it up to ver. n960usqs1csd1, I would love to update the device again to get Android 10, unfortunately for me this device was bought on USA and I live abroad (I am/was a crewmember on cruise ships), even though the device is unlocked, it carries on AT&T, so I cannot access the OTA because I'm not in USA soil/network.

I was able to update this device with Odin, so I'm not that unfamiliar with the procedure, I was just wondering if it would be safe to just go ahead and update it to the most recent version available.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.

Hi, welcome back, definitely can .
Use frija tool from xda website and extract it , put your model number and region to download the latest firmware from it .

Edit: att firmware are hard to get , use TMB (Tmobile for region)

Thank you very much for the swift response, I went ahead with frida and I'm getting this msg, I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong =( frija.png

Nvm, i just saw your edit, found it already, so it is safe to just move from n960usqs1csd1 to the one Frija provides?

Thank you very much!!!!
