Note10+ fingerprint sensor FIXED. Much better now!

I can report with certainty that for me the FPS update, while possibly fixing the security issue, did absolutely nothing for the speed or accuracy of detection. Still mostly OK, sometimes maddeningly bad. My first and last phone with on-screen FPS unless some serious magic happens for Note 11.

This technology will only get better with time. It's already pretty good. Not perfect but pretty good.

Turn the fps off.
Use it without the FPS for a week or two.

Tell me how bad it is.

Pixel didn't give you a choice.
They just did away with it.

Was working great. I installed a Whitestone Dome screen protector and now the fingerprint sensor is almost unusable.

This is why I am reluctant to use it. Although I have heard more positive than negative reviews about the Whitestone Dome, my luck is not that good.

Make sure your thumb is clean and dry.

I washed my hands with the new dawn platinum dish washing soap.
Geezer it must have bleach in it.
My thumb was super slick..
It's like it tool a layer of skin off.
Had to get it super dry.

When you did your finger print.
Did you turn your thumb a little to the right ?
Then back straight.

I have something important to add:

With the advent of dry winter weather, my thumbs, in particular, developed cracking and this caused them to stop working completely with the FPS until I re-registered them. Even then, I have to press down firmly to get them to work, unlike my index fingers, which are relatively free of cracks and work with very gentle contact on the screen.

Attached is a picture of one of my thumbs.

Go to Walley World

Get a bottle of Corn Huskers hand lotion.

Use it when you go to sleep.
It will help with cracked dry hands.
Dont get in all over your phone.

I'm on At&T and not received update for this only monthly Oct. Update

Thanks for the tip. I was going to rely on regular hand lotion, but something specialized would definitely be welcome.

At&t likes to check software longer to make sure there are no bugs in it before they release it.
And have customers that are unhappy.

It won't show up as a regular system software update.

The update will show up in your Notification panel as Biometrics and Security Update. Select it and it'll install.

And you know this how?

Was with at&t for 17 yrs.
At&t told me that, when I was asking them about why did verizon customers get new software.
And I hadn't gotten it.
They was stating, have you seen the problems everybody else is having.
We do not want to release it just yet.
And customers complain about the problems.

That use to be the excuse for Verizon releasing updates. Now you find them among the top carriers to release updates. It's all just bs...
