Note20 Ultra - Screen won't turn on for inbound text

I have been searching everywhere and can't figure this out. I have a new Note20 Ultra. I have Google's Messages app (not Samsung's) and no matter what I do, I can't get the screen to light up when an inbound text comes in.

Does anyone else know how to turn it on? I've tried configuring Always On, I've tried Notifications, etc. The sound & vibration works, but when a message came in on my old S9, S7 and S5, the screen would light up so I can see who texted me without touching my phone. Now I can't make it work no matter what I do.

I'd appreciate anyone's help. I've searched and tried many things online - none have worked.

Long press it then tap Info , scroll to notifications
Is everything on ? Then tap incoming message , is everything on?
