hey con, does putney need to have unknown sources checked under applications in order for the restore to work? I had the same problem he did once and when I checked that box the restore worked?

that maybe the problem, but i thought it prompts you before that

The way I have been assigning ring tones to individual contacts is use one of the ringtone apps, download the ringtones I wanted, then when you choose ringtone for that contact, you choose phone ringtone and all of the standard ringtones plus the ones you downloaded will be there and just choose which one you want to assign

I had the same problem putney had when i was going DL30. But for me, it was the debugging mode that was getting unchecked for some reason. I went in to titanium, it prompted that i should have debugging on, so i went back out hit debugging, went back in and it prompted me again, went through it again a 3rd time. Prompted me again, so I ignored it, went to restore everything and had the problem putney was having. I ended up just rebooting the phone, made sure i hit debugging, went in and no problem.
P.S. i was not going out of titanium with the home button. I made sure i escaped the program properly but for some reason it was happening.

uninstall, reinstall, restart the phone.....etc

ok try this, from clockwork, go to advanced , and wipe dalvik cache, and restart,

I did this around 4... everything seemed to be perfectly fine afterwards, the problem seeemed fixed until i get out of the movies w/ my dad (we went to see Eagle..great movie highly recommend it!!!) and my fone is again unresponsive and has now done it twice since i got out of the theatre at 9:30.... anybody have any more ideas what the prob could be... clearing the dalvik cache worked for a while but like i said when i got out of the movie it was unresponsive again:'( i love this rom so much i dont want to have to go back 2 superclean .4 but i cant keep pullin my battery out 15+x a day its a pain and makes my battery life essentially a couple hrs long:'( someone plz tell me this can be fixed or mite i have 2 wipe back 2 stock and start over( but i really dont want 2 if all necessary)

this thread is really long so I'm just going to ask and hopefully it's not a big deal if it's been mentioned....does anyone have a problem with the long press not working for the search button after installing froyo/deleting bing? I used to use it for Vlingo and it would allow me to give voice commands much more easily

ok lets do a scrub down, do you have all your apps backed up and your contacts saved?

then boot up the phone, after booted, shut down pull the battery and flash superclean again

if you restore from titanium remember only restore missing apps and data

if this helps im not sure if this is a fact but it seems that the fone stays responsive longer while on the charger... i will give that a go and post back...

Ok so I plan on doing this as soon as I can pull my wife from my lap top (hers is in the shop and shes a full time student) I just don't have time to read through the entire post. I plan on doing the super clean version. Any issues I should be aware of? Im running super clean dl09 with stupid fast kernal. Also I read somewhere about snooping software in froyo. I use wireless tether. Will this be an issue? Thanks everyone!

CWM, Wireless Tethering and Apps2SD

OK... First off, I want to thank DroidX and Adryn for all the hard work - the flash to Froyo with Odin went great! And amazingly it only took about 5 minutes from start to finish without any errors that I have found so far.

Now I have 3 questions:

1. CWM - Do I HAVE to do anything with CWM? I mean, I flashed 2.2 (FULL w/bloatware - I know, shoot me now) and everything runs great. Can I assume that I don't need to use CWM at all, unless I want to change ROM's, etc.?

2. Wireless Tethering - Since the Odin Flash rooted the phone during the flashing process, I downloaded a program called Wireless Tether and it works great. I am wondering what the pros/cons are of using this app for access on the go with my laptop?

3. Apps2SD - I probably have 20 third-party apps on my phone that I installed from the Market. When I go to 'Settings:Applications:Manage Applications:Third Party' then select the individual programs, the 'Move to SD' button is grayed out on EVERY app except for 'Barcode Scanner'. I was under the impression that once updated to Froyo all apps could be moved to SD. What gives?

Again, thanks to EVERYONE on this forum. Even those who are learning just like me - because I get to learn from the answers given to your questions too!

how on earth do I make it stop? I went into sounds and made sure it was unchecked......and its still doing it. I've tried rebooting, battery pull, still nothing (its still there)

Not sure which keyboard sounds you're referring to, but did you go to Language & keyboard, Swype, and uncheck Audio Feedback OR Language & keyboard, Android keyboard, and uncheck Sound on keypress?

ok im having a bit of an issue here... i downloaded TI and backed up all apps and system data then i did a factory wipe/reset then flashed dl09( i went back to dl09 from dl30 just to do it with a clean phone was this wrong?) , booted the phone and once i got to the activation screen i shutdown and removed the battery, flashed the EB01_DXC.TAR then i put the battery back in and booted the phone, i did the verizon activation thing and restored all missing apps and data and system data, ok this is the problem i charged my phone all night and went to work at 8am with full charge around 97% everything is ok a little sluggish though and i only had 3 short calls from my wife and my battery was dieing around 2pm. now before i did this upgrade i had two days before i had to recharge. is there any way i can fix this?

when you did the restore you were only supposed to restore missing apps with data. do not restore system data. that is restoring data from your previous build, some of which would be incompatible with EB01
