[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Sorry, I have another question. On my SD card I have a lot of loose files going by the name of dumpstate_app_google_process_gapps_error, what should I do with those exactly (and what are they)? Is it alright to delete them or should I create a folder for them?

Hey folks,

Just saw this and registered. What is the best version of Froyo to download? I want the least buggiest and something that does have a proper GPS fix where it does not take 10 minutes for the GPS to start navigating.

The best version right now in the opinion of mostly everyone here is superclean 2.9. It removes all the Verizon bloatware, is clean, stable, and fast. And almost everyone is reporting outstanding GPS with it. If you are still stock and haven't done any rooting or anything with you phone, go to the first post in this thread and use the EB16SC29_DXC.tar package. Do some reading first so you understand the process, then before you start we will need to help you backup whatever you don't want to lose because you are going to need to wipe your phone before upgrading.

Those are just error messages for when your phone encountered some type of problem. If you didn't encounter a major problem you can delete them. If you encountered a major problem the dumpstate will help a technician figure out what went wrong.

Oh man, I just finished installing about 40 apps after upgrading to EB01
(this version below)

Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01DB_DXC.tar

Is 2.9 Superclean that much better than the one I just installed?

By the way, isn't there a way for Google/Gmail to syncrhonize and automatically reinstall all previously installed market apps, after a fresh factory reset (or o/s upgrade)? Just curious.

Thanks for your help

PS: in regards to 2.9 superclean, what does it mean that it does not wipe cache/data? In other words, do I have to manually do this prior to the upgrade?

In additional to my previous question, I barely see any difference in Froyo compared to 2.1

The only things I noticed different are:
1. Some icons / interface color changes
2. The tip mark icon when typing inside search box

I barely notice speed changes either.

Still not able to overclock with SetCPU

Yikes...just upgraded to super clean 2.9

What on earth happened to the app scroll behavior? I miss the left/right scroll with pages. I see no option to revert to that.

Can someone please help me regain that? Thanks

I have noticed that I have a bunch of processes that I kill in advanced task killer. They come right back on without me opening their prospective programs. Any suggestions on ways to limit the process that start up?

set cpu doesnt work well with the fascinate.
i dont think you can change the way the app drawer scrolls with the aosp launcher. you might try a different launcher like launcherpro.

3rd party task killers are not recommended, better to use the native task killer (task manager) to stop running programs

my only other suggestion would be other launchers like adw or go launcher. i cant remember what the app drawers do on those, i havent tried them in a while

I have the dual core MacBook. Was wondering if doing the root on the microsoft (bootcamp) side would be okay using the PC instructions from the original post? Thanks!

I don't know if this is a problem or not and I hope someone can help. I have ran the 28X and the 29X. Both hang up at the very end at the modem.bin.
the 1st time this happened i unplugged the cord and started over and it finished but got a lot of FC's. I am trying 29X this time and it has happened again. Has been frozen for about 5min now

just a heads up. I just got my refrub'ed phone in today. right out of the box I loaded the 29X. I am still a noob at all this. can someone please help

If you were coming straight from ' stock', you would need to flash the 2.9 WITHOUT the 'x'. Since you jusr received a refurb, it is most likely stock. Download the file named: EB16SC29_DXC.tar from the original post and flash it.

if it finished and you got a lot of force closes, sounds like you used the package that does not wipe data and cache. data wipe is necessary coming from eclair (2.1). flash the package without the x and see if that works for you
