[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

YouTube - Samsung Fascinate Boot & Shutdown mod

There is the link to the video showing what I want to do, like I said, the previous rom/kernal played the sound for the animation, but not the animation itself. Now it plays the animation, but not the sound. This is for the startup only. Shutdown works perfectly.

the best person to talk to about this is Jaekar but im sure he will say the same thing about boot sounds not available yet, probably will have to go back to eclair for this

Sweet. I should probably figure out how to duplicate that glitch so I can figure out the easiest, best way to fix it. Most likely it will be changing the shortcut to something else, then back to contacts, then reboot phone to complete the change.

Ok shark so the problem is back. Long story I had to reflash everything kind of bricked the old phone last night and do everything again. Thanks do DroidX i still have a phone! Anywho we need to come up with a fix for this issue. It like backs out of contacts into contacts. Then u need to hit home to fix it.

Shark I fixed it. Heres the fix for anyone else that has the issue. Clear data on launcher pro then immediately reboot. dont touch anything. then Long press on the contacts icon, choose change shortcut, choose applications, choose phone, choose default icon. Click on phone icon, click back soft key. Long press on that same phone icon, change shortcut, applications, contacts, default icon, click icon, try back button. Then restart again. All shall be good after that! Hope this helps some people! Couldnt do it without all of you good people here! Thanks again! loving this phone!!

The wipe version was pulled? Coming back sometime soon? My thing is that I want to get rid of everything on the phone and just start from 2.92. I wiped all the caches, flashed the 2.92, came back in and everything (apps, theme, contacts) were restored...

Thoughts?

yeah i put it up then i decided to test it and my world came crashing down,

So here is the problem.

in order to do wiping in an odin package i need to add 2 files:
cache
data
these files trigger a system wipe
both of these files are dummys, what happens is that data gets wiped seperate from the odin flash, it actually wipes when the phone tries to boot, not during the odin process.
now with that said, adrynalyne packaged the kernels with cwm all. after the flash and upon start up instead of booting up regular it boots into recovery, which negates the start up wipe. so what happens is the partition not only has your old data but now it has this added dummy file. Permissions get messed up and bam force close city. This can be fixed by using fix permissions. but for the average user this is kind of an advanced process and totally not worth all the trouble.

if you want to start clean try flashing the eb01 fix all found HERE
then flash the 2.9.2 non wipe version

DXc ... I lost track of this the past couple weeks and am a little fuzzy on something. Are you now including the CWM-ALL with the ODIN files or is it still the older fake-flash/update.zip version?

For reasons only I can apparently comprehend (<-- shot at myself, not anyone else), I swear CWM-ALL causes me to have weird problems and want to go back to the older one again. It's a pretty big pain to build my phone back up from scratch this way and create/apply my own ROM zip (I go full EB01, then use your SC 2.5 ODIN and then apply a custom update.zip of my own to bring it up to Adryn's latest and greatest ... now I would need to add an EC10 kernel flash step as well), and I always worry that I've made a mistake. It's a lot of steps

Dumb follow-on question: If you're including CWM-ALL now, it is as simple as swapping out the recovery.bin in the tar with one from an older tar? I doubt it is, but I thought I'd ask.

Anyway, if you don't mind enlightening me a bit I'd really appreciate it. Apologies for not keeping tabs on what's in what in the first place :-!

No worries,, no im not personally adding it in, the problem is a little more complicated as far as cwm and fascinate than just flashing recovery.bin

cwm all is now embedded in the superclean kernels so i have no choice but to add it... i will try to find a work around asap but between the forums and work im kind of swamped. i cant have my phone out of commission all the time for testing...

please describe the problem you are having with cwm all , it really shouldnt give you a problem as far as functionality

Hmmm... there is a separately available EC01 kernel from Adryn, would that help? I thought that didn't include CWM, perhaps my memory isn't so good, or I never booted into Recovery after I applied that when it came out. I must have at some point :)

>> Please don't "asap" on my account!! I'm good, I don't want to make any work for ANYONE!

I have 2 problems with CWM-ALL. First, I'm concerned that it doesn't wipe data/system reset as well as the stock blue. I never see DBDATA: come up, for example, and at one point I was in DBDATA hell for about 2 days before I noticed that and made a point of wiping in stock first then CWM (for good measure - lol). I'm not savvy enough yet to hook up the device in such a way as to look without booting, though, so I cannot be certain. I like to tinker and rely upon data wipes/nandroid backups (through CWM) to save me. Blue wipes always always always work for me, red ones ... meh, not so much ;)

The second problem is just ... general stability. I agree it shouldn't be a factor, and I have no way to prove it. Nobody else reports such problems either, which makes me feel more than a little stupid. But, I can take a perfectly functioning phone and just install CWM-ALL, not even using it, and something weird always happens. For example, I've done 2.9.2/EC10 twice now. The first time I had weird problems with the screen. Start all over, do exactly the same things, and now the screen is fine but GPS flakes out from time to time. Stuff like that.

I also have a stupid trivial nit-pick with CWM-ALL in that I don't want a Voodoo folder on my SD card if I'm not using Voodoo :) I know that's ******ed, but it does bug me!

Again, please don't spend any real time on this just for me, ok? I want to learn more about converting ROMs/Kernels/etc into ODIN-able tars, but I can do that on my own (and with my own phone), thanks to you I have a really nice way to un-screw-up my mistakes, too.

Apologies for my ignorance, and my sincere thanks for your time!

Please watch the language

No ignorance involved, please i am learning on a daily basis. you have a decent grasp on things ..

lets see if you are having problems i would say its most likely a permissions problem
please read up and try fixing permissions it may or may not help
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html

the voodoo folder thing is def nitpicky lol it doesnt effect you unless you actually enable lagfix or/and flash a voodoo kernel

And no worrys i work as fast as possible because things are constantly changing and I want to be able to help anyone that comes to me for help and unless i figure out these things fast i may get overwhelmed, if that makes sense
