Hmmm... there is a separately available EC01 kernel from Adryn, would that help? I thought that didn't include CWM, perhaps my memory isn't so good, or I never booted into Recovery after I applied that when it came out. I must have at some point
>> Please don't "asap" on my account!! I'm good, I don't want to make any work for ANYONE!
I have 2 problems with CWM-ALL. First, I'm concerned that it doesn't wipe data/system reset as well as the stock blue. I never see DBDATA: come up, for example, and at one point I was in DBDATA hell for about 2 days before I noticed that and made a point of wiping in stock first then CWM (for good measure - lol). I'm not savvy enough yet to hook up the device in such a way as to look without booting, though, so I cannot be certain. I like to tinker and rely upon data wipes/nandroid backups (through CWM) to save me. Blue wipes always always always work for me, red ones ... meh, not so much
The second problem is just ... general stability. I agree it shouldn't be a factor, and I have no way to prove it. Nobody else reports such problems either, which makes me feel more than a little stupid. But, I can take a perfectly functioning phone and just install CWM-ALL, not even using it, and something weird always happens. For example, I've done 2.9.2/EC10 twice now. The first time I had weird problems with the screen. Start all over, do exactly the same things, and now the screen is fine but GPS flakes out from time to time. Stuff like that.
I also have a stupid trivial nit-pick with CWM-ALL in that I don't want a Voodoo folder on my SD card if I'm not using Voodoo

I know that's ******ed, but it does bug me!
Again, please don't spend any real time on this just for me, ok? I want to learn more about converting ROMs/Kernels/etc into ODIN-able tars, but I can do that on my own (and with my own phone), thanks to you I have a really nice way to un-screw-up my mistakes, too.
Apologies for my ignorance, and my sincere thanks for your time!
