ah, no prob ...there's so many different little options and menu's and settings to choose from w/ LP ..sometimes it's hard to find your way through and/or get back to somewhere you know you've been I know I've been there

Next stop Vodooo although i have no idea what it does, but you know me if I can flash it in odin and it doesnt wipe data im in! lol!!!!!!! Thanks again!!!

lol no you cant flash voodoo with odin well at least i dont support it... please do alot of reading about voodoo before you go that route, please ask alot of questions, get some rest buddy

yah I wont be vodooing anytime soon I dont get clockwork at all!!!! maybe with more of your tutelage but i like where the phone is at right now! few kinks but nothing major! How to do a perm root on my phone?

What rom/kernal to run to have phone they way it currently is(EB01DB_DXC.tar), but would like droid 2.2 os debloated with boot animation support, be stable and still be conservative on the battery?

Does rooting delete apps and other info? If not can't a backup be done just by browsing the phone's file structure and backing up stuff that way?

if you used EB01DB_DXC.tar then you are already 2.2 and you are already perm rooted.... if you want boot animation and better battery life consider flashing EC10SC292x_DXC.tar that file will not wipe your data and it will give you boot animation with a kernel that is good on battery life

since you are rooted just use titanium backup and be done with it, its fast and free

if you use the one in the OP EC10SC292x_DXC.tar

this will only work if you are already on 2.2 (EB01) the x means it doesnt wipe data..


if you are on 2.1 you must use a wipe version otherwise you will have a force close loop

yes you can use the non wipe version



well since either way they will have to lose data you can use the 2.9.2 wipe version , which i have, but have not posted yet ill probably post it in a little bit before i go to sleep

Sorry i didnt know sound was important i thought you just cared about animation,,,,non of the froyo kernels support start up sounds yet ...im not sure about the EC10 kernel but dropping a message on Adrynalynes thread may be a good please to start either

YouTube - Samsung Fascinate Boot & Shutdown mod

There is the link to the video showing what I want to do, like I said, the previous rom/kernal played the sound for the animation, but not the animation itself. Now it plays the animation, but not the sound. This is for the startup only. Shutdown works perfectly.
