[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

What's with the OC hate on this forum? Voodoo used to be the boogeyman but now almost everyone jumped on that bandwagon.

Has anyone actually had a major hardware issue overclocking this phone? I can't recall reading about one. I'm sure it's rare if it's happened at all.

oh dont get me wrong im still weary of voodoo. there been a bunch of people that ive worked with for hours trying to recover from 0 internal memory. Even after repartitioning and flashing movinand and trying to repartition with other voodoo kernels

And anyone that is on this thread asking about voodoo or Overclocking should be holding off until they learn more. Its not that i don't see benefits in it. i just dont think its beneficial to the noobish kind.

With that said someone should start a thread with instructions on how to safely and stabely (excuse my spelling) overclock with respective kernels.

If you could help out with that NoS that would be great help

Nothin' to it, right now for this phone you just flash it like any other kernel and see if your phone locks up :) If it does, 3 button recovery and flash your old kernel. Not worth a thread.

In the future if they make it such that you can regulate the voltage for each step it could get more complicated. There is a voltage control app for the Galaxy S, not sure if many people have tried it on this phone. We'll see how things develop. But at this point it's really simple. I don't even use SetCPU when I OC.

ashamed to say but since i dont have a phone and i have taken on more of a load for the site i have not kept up with kernel development. But from my understanding, like you said there isnt many choices and its limited to voodoo kernels correct?

Yes, AFAIK for this phone on Froyo there is only Nemesis2all's Voodoo OC kernels. He just made the first like a week ago when source dropped.

There were a bunch of OC kernels for Eclair but that's mostly irrelevant at this point.

Has that happened on the latest Voodoo or are people still flashing those old Voodoo 4 kernels from October?

No idea bro, most people cant tell me what they flashed..... appearently when you flash a voodoo kernel it wipes any memory of any useful information you could use to help me help you lol

yeah we had alot of trouble with EB16 voodoo i know that. i think a couple other situations did involve older versions and also flashing voodoo 5.5 which is not even for our phones so it gets messy

This is why, despite currently being on the voodoo bandwagon after converting, I still advise new rooters to stay away from voodoo at first. It is too much to keep track of while at the same time still learning the basics of rooting and flashing. I feel flashing kernels, ROMs, themes, mods, and patches in CWM and modems and full pakcages in ODIN should be second nature before moving to voodoo. That way your concentration can completely be on what kernel you are running, and not flashing anything nonvoodoo.

Camera Problem

Hey all,
My flash was successful as I am running 2.2 now and everything is running smoothly. I used the Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod, and only one thing doesn't work and its my camera. When i try to open it up, it tells me my firmware is not update and asks me to update it. Any suggestions to get my camera working again?

Yes, do the update. Choose the third option. Oh, and welcome to Android Central.

GPS

Thanks for answering my camera question. One last thing managed to find that wasn't quite working and that would be my GPS. It wont pull my location and just tell me my location is temporarily unavailable. Any workaround for this? Thanks for answering a newbie

how do you get an odin file actually wipe data? I am trying to make odin files for the mesmerize and can't figure this out.

Thank you

this may seem like a dumb question but my phone has build EA28, would it still work when using either EB01DB_DXC.tar or EB16SC29_DXC.tar???

Sorry for the newbie question but I have searched all over the internet and can't find a solution. I am running superclean 2.9.2 novoodo and i am tring to load 50mv or 100mv UV nonvoodo kernel and when i reboot i'm stuck on the samsung logo then it reboots. It continued to do this for 30 minutes before i pulled the battery and loaded the superclean 2.9.2 odin files then i loaded jt's CWM all. The phone is now operational but i can not load any kernels through CWM. Is it possible these UV kernels are not compatible with superclaen or am doing something wrong?
