[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

I'm probably way out of my league on this on, but I decided to take the froyo plunge after reading a lot of the threads here for encouragement. I'm just a little (check that, very ) nervous about pulling the trigger. I downloaded the .tar file that I wanted and clicked on "extract here" as the directions indicated, but then deleted and redownloaded the tar file (second thoughts I guess). I THINK I have properly extracted a second time, but I'm not sure.

My question; when I open up Odin (this is before I go into download mode) and click on the PDA button, the .tar.md5 file icon looks a different than the screen shot at the beginning of this thread, in that it is not a plain white sheet. How will I know if this file has been successfully extracted?

Sorry for the basic question. Just don't want to brick anything.

What does the icon look like after you clicked on extract here?

When I go into odin and seen the file name, beside the file name to the left there's a what appears to be a blue outline in the middle of a white sheet with two dots. Sorry for the highly untechnical description.

Which package are you trying to install? And you did download Winrar correct?

Hello, thanks for trying to help me!

yes, I did download winrar. I am trying to install Super Clean 2.9.2 EB01/EC10.

You can't go straight to 2.9.2 from Eclair without wiping data, cache and dalvik cache. You can do these manually through clockworkmod recovery (cwm), or you can flash the EB16SC29_DXC.tar file first since that takes care of the wiping for you, then you can flash the 2.9.2 file. You will lose all user data with the wipe, so back up your contacts, apps, and any text messages you want to save before wiping.

Sounds good. I am about to attempt to flash EB16sc29_DXC.tar. I'm rooted and have everything backed up through Titanium Backup. Should I just go for it? There's probably nothing wrong.. just my paranoia.

I would say you are safe if you have everything backed up through TiBu. Any mistakes are correctable, but if you follow DroidXcon's step by step instructions exactly you will be fine.

i may have already seen the answer to my question but i dont recall exactly.... anyways, if and when vzw pushes out froyo ofiicially, since i have sc 2.9.2, will i be able to recieve the update ota???

I dont think so, think you'll have to flash back to di01 and update from that but I could be wrong

Of course we'll have to wait and see if it will offer any improvments over what SC2.9.2/EC01 already givea us

Hello, i successfully flashed EB16sc29_DXC.tar. through Odin following the instructions and the start of this thread. Thanks for everyone's help! Now, I'm trying to use tibu to backup my data. I backed up pretty much everything beforehand so I should be safe. I went and grabbed it from the market but it is not appearing in my app drawer. On the market it says its installed. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

there is a key and a app. if you purchased it you are most likely only downloading the key

Thank you, sir! That was easy. One last noob question for you; am I free at this point not to restore the verizon bloatware or should i just restore everything?

Ok, i have a serious problem now. The phone keeps rebooting. I get a message Sorry! Use *#9900# to take log. The process com.google.process.gaps (may this last one isn't the word) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I am seriously panicking.
