[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Thanks for your timely suggestions...

Sorry for confusing you by using the term "apps" and "Droid apps"... I meant "android marketplace apps" generically. I downloaded "Titanium Backup Pro" and backed up User Apps & System Data... AOK! This will prevent me from having to reinstall all of my marketplace apps every time that I update the PDA's ROM/Operating System.

Now I'll go back to DI01 and then try your "Super Clean v2.1" instead of the v2.2 that I used previously. Thanks Again for your help! - Robert.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who brought these ROMs to fruition. I'm glad I waited a little bit to get SuperClean 2.2 - it's running flawlessly & ridiculously fast! This is my 2nd custom ROM now, & they've brought my Fascinate from the brink of ebay to now my best phone.

Let me know if this works for you. I am having the same issue and need to know if this will fix it. PPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEEE

Just flashed this, It doesnt come with samsung keyboard, im ****ing pissed, Thats the only one I used and I love it. anyway I can get an .apk of it or something.

"All you have to do is download the deodexed stock ROM build, unzip it and put the touchwizlauncher30.apk file in the /system/app folder. You can do all this from root explorer."

I just got this response on the xda forums. I'm going to try it tonight when I get home. Does this sound like something that could work or am I being set up for failure?

That would work, or you could take the easy route and in Adrynalyne's superclean thread he has a patch that will give you the touchwiz launcher, widgets, and apps. Here it is:

http://adrynalyne.us/files/patches/eb01_touchwiz.zip

Just save this to your sd card, reboot into recovery and install this zip file. DroidXcon just tried it and said it worked fine.

On EB01 Superclean 2.1 when i boot into Red CWM, I see a few options that i'm interested in. "Advanced" and "Voodoo". I'm assuming that SC2.1 is a voodoo kernel, true? Also says "Voodoo lagfix is actually: Disabled. What are the benefits of enabling it? Would I have to disable it to flash a new rom/theme/etc. If I enable Voodoo would I be able to use boot animations with SC 2.1 EB01?

If i want to flash a new theme or ROM, would I need to "wipe cache partition"?

Thanks in advance for the help!

those settings will not work as the red cwm is specifically for froyo and the voodoo options are disabled, you will need the old Red cwm ....i am able to make a voodoo odin flashable rom but i dont want to make it available because i dont want to be part of any damage people will do to their phones messing with voodoo

Welcome to the joy of rooting.....being able to cusomize and do more with your phone. First and most importantly sc 2.1 is not voodoo, so just ignore the voodoo and lagfix portion. Adrynalyne has a 2.2 voodoo build and there is a thread by Gunnermike on how to go to voodoo. It is recommended you get comfortable with doing things in nonvoodoo before trying voodoo. There is a small debate as to whether there is a big enough difference between voodoo and non voodoo to make it worth while for most people. Advanced is where you can wipe battery stas and wipe dalvik cache. Do not use any of the boot animations from 2.1 (eclair aka DL09 or EA28) You can flash a theme without having to wipe anything. If the ROM is of the same build (e.g. going from sc 2.1 to 2.2) Adrynalyne says no need to wipe. If you are going from one ROM to another that are different builds, definitely wipe data and cache. I think you're always pretty safe wiping when flashing ROMs

Thanks DroidXcon & Landshark :) I think i just found Gunnermike's thread ( http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...s/55753-how-voodoo-updated-12-feb-2011-a.html ) ...is this the same one you're referring to?

This may be a ridiculous question, but what exactly is 'voodoo' and how is it different than a non-voodoo? I'm trying as much as i can think of and exploring the threads, but i do need to get more comfortable with CWM and flashing stuff for sure. Any suggestions to build skills?

**Edit**
I did flash Chris3D's Battery Framework the other night ( http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ks-roms-themes-kernels-updated-2-14-11-a.html ) which works great. Made a recovery image too. So far thats all i've explored with though. I'm still looking for a theme.

Curious about whether to do a BU before Flashing Rom? is it necessary?

Depends on what you are flashing from and what you are flashing to. Safest thing is to always do a backup anyway, but especially if you are going to be doing any flashing. If you are flashing from a rom on one build, DL09 (Eclair 2.1 OS) to EB01 Froyo 2.2 OS) you must do a backup because you have to wipe data before you flash, and you will lose what you haven't backed up

And a good App for doing BU would be what,? I really want to this only one time. Thanks for the quick reply..

Yes that is the right thread for voodoo. I believe Gunnermike53 has an explanation of what voodoo is and how it is different from non-voodoo in the thread. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to voodoo, so I couldn't tell you. As far as getting comfortable flashing you can get some practice by downloading different themes and switching back and forth between them. No need to do a wipe with flashing themes so you get practice simply navigating through cwm to install things. I like Adrynalyne's superclean ROMs, so I get plenty of practice flashing roms just trying to keep up with all the versions he puts out :p. I don't think there's anything you can do to your phone that someone here cannot help you fix. So play around and have fun.

I think most people, myself included, use titanium backup. if you think you may eventually do a lot of flashing it is worth the small amount of money to buy the pro version. It allows you to restore your apps in one shot instead of one at a time

I have T Backup. Just tried to run, and find out my Root privileges disappeared.

Now I have to go hunt down the process for re-rooting the phone. Thanks for your help.

Oops! I just realized my wife's phone number is visible on the picture I uploaded... Don't get any funny ideas guys! LOL
