I might be...my contacts app is messed up...can't back out of it, it isn't recognizing when a contact is associated with Facebook.

Unless you have a better answer to the contacts issue...

Yours from this first page. I downloaded it when it first became available. Since the file name didn't change I assume the contents didn't change.

Yes...and the good news is now I CAN use the back key....but for whatever reason Facebook is still an issue. Might try removing and then adding back....

How to use CWM???? to go from 2.2 to 2.3

I followed the first instructions about loading the "update.zip" file onto the sd card, and using odin to load the EB01SC22_DXC.tar ... and all is well... now I reading partial references to using clockwork to update to the new 2.3 rom... but I can't find an explanation as to: What CWM is, how to access it, what it does, where I need to put the .zip file on the sd card... all this tinkering with systems is very cool, but trying to back learn from the end conversations isn't working for me.. I've googled and not found a basic CWM instruction page, so I don't know where to start??? Most of you all seem to understand how CWM works, so I apologize if I'm doing the wrong thing in this forum, but where else should I go look? Thanks... DJ

i dont know much about the facebook syncing,,,but if you are willing to try my new package for superclean 2.3 let me know,,,,,realizing it has not been tested so i dont know if it will wipe data or not

Clockworkmod is a custom recovery .. it allows you to install 3rd party roms , themes, kernels, and modems amongst other things. also allows you to perform backups and restores of the OS.

you can enter it by doing the following
Phone off
press and hold Vol up+down+power button till you see samsung flash twice then let go
if the update.zip is on your sd card scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip, you can select by using the home button
this will lead you into red clockwork recovery mode.
you can select by using the power button or back button
to go back use search button

Thanks for posting this. I plan on getting my Fascinate later this week, but I had a quick question about the differences in the versions available for download.

Is there any benefit to getting the stock version over the debloated version or any of the clean versions? Sorry if it's already been mentioned, I didn't care to look through 70 pages to find out. Is there a comparison of the different versions anywhere?

stock is for people who like all the verzion preinstalled software, and debloated has them removed,,,, stock has the advantage if you like the software, if you dont its a disadvantage.

superclean has all samsung and verizon software removed

Shark....flashing the .zip from my SD card worked like a champ! No wiping or anything necessary, seems to be working great. I now have SC 2.3! Thanks to you and DroidX these have all been painless upgrades to my phone. Thanks again.

Just go to this thread and download the super_clean_2_3nv.zip:

Download 2.3 to your sd card, reboot to recovery, apply sd card.zip, hit home button, now in red cwm, install from sd card, hit power button, confirm, after install is comlete, hit menu button till at main red cwm menu where reboot system now will be highlighted, hit power button and wait for phone to reboot. According to Adrynalyne, no wiping needed prior. Simple.
