[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Alright, then does the Superclean version have these apps or replacements for them? And if I wanted to extract them, will I just have to use Root Explorer or is there a free file explorer that will allow me to get into the system/app folder?

Yes, superclean has all those files, calculator and calendar are AOSP versions I believe, but everything you asked about is there. That means they would be in any of Adrynalyne's ROMs. If there wasn't something in there you wanted, yes, you would use root explorer. Just have to make sure it is compatible with the kernel you are running.

Without searching through 65 pages of thread, what does the patch do?

The patch is for pop up transitions. I haven't tried it yet, and I don't know what is meant by pop up transitons. I know what transitions are when going from one home screen to another, so I would imagine it is something similar.

Still running SC 2.2, and in not wanting to inundate Adryn, or anyone else, with more PM's than they can already handle, I can emphatically state here that my wife's non android phone (Exlif) is not getting all of my text messages. The ones randomly missed were from replies and not initiated by me. I checked Verizon, and it seems to indicate that they register my sending those messages, and this hasn't happened before modding SC 2.2.

Should this be a concern with SC versions, or is this a possible issue with all EB01 leaked rom mods?

Have you tried using handcent....also have you tried any other version of EB01. You are the first report of this I have seen

Download 2.3 to your sd card, reboot to recovery, apply sd card.zip, hit home button, now in red cwm, install from sd card, hit power button, confirm, after install is comlete, hit menu button till at main red cwm menu where reboot system now will be highlighted, hit power button and wait for phone to reboot. According to Adrynalyne, no wiping needed prior. Simple.

EDIT -@ willenium - No wiping means won't have to go through setting up phone again, so no worries going to sc 2.3, but you can still just go to debloated/deodexed if you want.

EDIT FURTHER - Oops sorry, Matt. Should have clarified. No need to use full package again to get to superclean 2.3. Just go to this thread and download the 2.3 nonvoodoo to your sd card then follow the instructions above.

Ok, it didn't work. I put the deodexed file on my SD card and it wasn't on there when I got to red recovery. I got to the part of install from SD card and I don't know what to do after that

After you have install zip from sd card highlighted, hit the power button, scroll to whatever folder you put the file in (there is a sub-folder called sd card, if you put it in there look there), hit the power button, scroll to the file, hit the power button, you will get a confirmation page making sure you want to install the file. There will be a ton of no's and one yes. scroll to the yes, hit the power button and wait as the file is installed. Once you get the installation complete notification, hit the menu soft key until you are at the main red cwm menu which has reboot system now at the top of the menu list, hit the power button and wait for you phone to reboot (may take a few minutes so be patient)

What do you mean you can not unlock without a battery pull? everytime the phone locks you have to pull the battery?

Yes, but it is sporadic. If the phone sits idol for too long I have to pull the battery. No one knows what is wrong. I flashed to DI01 and back to EB01, then to SC, and it works for a while then BAM!! I have to pull the battery.

I tried to remove programs to see if something is corrupt and still having the issue. I have 2 apps now. You Mail and Root Explorer.

It will not have this issue as long as it is plugged in. That is the weird part.

DXc (et al) ... I still can't flash anything through CWM :( Before I installed SuperClean 2.2, I did go all the way back to DI01 as recommended. SC 2.2 was working fine, but I was going to flash SC 2.3 and ran into the same problem I've been having:

--Installing: SDCARD:rom/super_clean_2_3nv.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Deleting files...
Formatting SYSTEM:...
Copying files...
E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/[
E:Failure at line 5:
symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/[
Installation aborted.

Afterwards, my phone is stuck in a recovery loop, so I have to re-ODIN it and will use SC 2.3 version. I've checked the busybox files and the /xbin folder, things looked OK to me. If I run "busybox" from a terminal emulator I see that it's version 1.19 adrynalyne or something along those lines.

If I had to guess, I'd say that square bracket doesn't look quite right :) Edit: No, it's right, I see it in the update script, it's the first symlink command. There is also one for "[[" so I'm sure that's supposed to be there. My bad.

Thoughts?

edit: Once I get it back up, I'll try that symlink command from the terminal emulator and see if I get the same error as well. Probably should have written it down prior to this!

OK, but I believe that the phone is looking for a zip file and the deodexed file is not in zip format. Is that the problem? In other words, I just can't seem to find the actual file I have to install even though I know that it is on the SD card.

no, the phone is not looking for anything. you are just looking through files on your sd card to find the deodexed file. you are manually looking. the only thing the phone will do is install the file once you tell it to. It is just like sticking a usb thumb drive in your computer, using the mouse to open folders, then subfolders to get to a file you put on the thumb drive and then telling the computer to install or open or whatever to it by double clicking on the file. You have to remember where on the sd card you put the deodexed file and go there on your sd card.

Now I get the problem. You are trying to use the full package again. In order to use the full package again you would have to follow the instructions from the first post again which is unnecessary since you already have the modem and kernel. Go to this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...om-dl09-super-clean-0-4-eb01-2-3-updated.html

and download the 2.3 nv zip file to your sd card then follow my instrucions on using cwm. now that you have what you need it's time to learn how to flash roms, themes, and add-ons through cwm. I was pming with DXC and he said when he has time he is going to put a video together on how to use cwm to flash things. These packages are designed to assist people who have never rooted in getting Froyo.

did you try flashing anything else besides that file, is this happening when you try to flash anything?

I'll grab one of adryn's update .zips and let you know. Mrs. just got home ... can't play outside right now :'(

Just to be clear, if I want to load SC 2.3 on my phone and I am coming stright from EB01 I dont need to do a wipe on my phone first? I thought you would always need to do a nandroid and then a wipe prior to loading a new ROM. Am I wrong in my assumption? Thanks for any input on this.

Nandroid is just a saftey net,,, and you dont need to wipe anything with either but it usually works best if you wipe at the very least cache

the odin files i provide wipe data and cache, wiping cache should be fine though

No, you were not wrong in your assumption. The need for wiping was just further clarified by Adrynalyne. If you are going from one rom to another within the same build, there is no need to wipe. The stock, debloated/deodexed, and superclean we all have been installing the past few days are all EB01, just different customizations. So if you are going from either the stock EB01 or the debloated/deodexed, Adrynalyne said there is no need to wipe unless you have funky things happening after the flash.

So would you recommend using the Odin file or just placing the .zip on my SD Card and flashing through CWR?
