[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Hey everyone.. So I'm a complete noob when it comes to the Fascinate.. I just rooted my phone and I'm very interested in trying out the Super Clean 2.4 rom... I guess I'm not fully grasping how to put that on my phone. What am I supposed to do after I download the update.zip? Sorry if you ready this and think wow.. this guy is a ****** :/

you dont need the update.zip , that is to help you enter clockworkmod recovery. if you dont know what that is then you probably dont need it,,,but if you want..... download update.zip....plug in your phone. dropdown notification bar..select USB connect notice. mount the sdcard, on your computer put the update.zip file onto your sd card..... then pick the froyo file you want...i suggest debloated if you like samsung touchwhiz ....and superclean 2.4 if you dont....download odin , then follow the directions i laid out.... if you think the directions are not clear then you are probably thinking to deeply into it

or maybe these directions are clearer

so you are saying if you go to settings , USB settings is not in between SD card & phone storage and language and keyboard?

It is there but it is greyed out...i flashed back to SC2.3 and it works.

I will try Landsharks suggestion and see if that works when I reflash sc 2.4

Thanks

are the superclean roms posted here nonvoodoo or are they voodoo. I noticed in the other superclean sticky that there are two versions.. also, which one is better.

non voodoo,,,i never recommend voodoo, so i dont provide that option,,,but that is an opinion thing....i dont recommend it because you are making your memory do what it was not designed to do. its like physically hacking your system rather than hacking with code.

Standup, im not sure i dont really have time to look into it, please let us know what you find out....it may fix sending picture messages as some people said theirs were not sending

attention!!!!!!!!!!! I fixed superclean 2.4 no data wipe file....it includes kernel, modem.and cache wipe now

The 2.4 SC that doesn't data wipe is the stock EB01. I got all the bloatware installed on top of my SC 2.2 stuff.

EDIT:

LOL! Danger... I DL'd it 5 minutes prior to your warning. will the "new" sc 2.4 fix all the bloatware that got reinstalled?

According to joebob2000, No fix, just restores the stock "samsung" version of the MMS app instead of the AOSP version. People's tastes differ; if you dont like the one out of the box in SC then try the stock one.

Maybe ASOP version is the issue. But since it's working, I'll hold off on installing stock until I see an issue again.

Thank you very much for looking into this, you have been great help

I can't believe how easy you made this process! Thanks so much for your time and effort. I am coming from a Windows Mobile environment so while I understand the concepts of flashing ROMs etc I had to spend a lot of time reading up on how the process works under Android OS. Lots of terminology to figure out too.

I used the SC2.4 package, flashed and booted into red recovery with no issues. I'll be watching my battery usage and testing out additional functions outside of placing a phone call once I make the Fascinate my primary phone. My phone is new (from ebay) and I wanted to flash before setting up Google accounts and loading any applications, themes and other goodies. My wireless seemed to connect so that's a good start!

Thanks again!

EDIT to say I actually use Page Plus, not Verizon so no OTA updates for me.
