[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

check the link from dxc up top gives a pretty clear rundown.i was checking that one out also!im gonna try it right now

Anyone know why I would be getting the following force closenwith the SC2.6 :the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly

I noticed there was a separate link for a nonvoodo kernel, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it if anything.

All of the packages here are non-voodoo. The two links you see with the packages that from DroidXCon are either Data Wipe or Non Data Wipe.

When should you choose a non-data wipe version? When you are already running one of the Froyo 2.2 versions posted here. You have an exponentially lower chance of having any issues, or force closes like people do when they use the non data wipe coming from stock roms. This type of package keeps all of your contacts, apps and configurations in tact. All non-data wipe versions have a little x at the end of the version of the package. Example - EB16SC26x_DXC.tar . The little x after 26 indicates non data wipe version.

When should you choose a data wipe version? Typically, when you come from Verizon stock Eclair ROMs. Use something like Titanium to backup your apps, and when you load one of the 2.2 Froyo ROMs from the OP, then you can load your apps back with Titanium. Just remember to restore user apps and not system data. Example - EB16SC26_DXC.tar . Notice that there isn't a little x after the 26? That's a full wipe version.

What version did you come from?
What version did you load?

Standupdad,

So if Iam stock and unrooted I should go with the full data wipe 2.6 at on the first page when I do my root? Thanks in advance

I thought I borked my phone because it took it so long to boot up for the first time. but it finally made it! Rocking 2.2 now! How do i safely apply LAGFIX GUYS??? to voodoo or not! IM a mobile gamer, help!

if you are stock eclair, then yes, if you are stock froyo, then no need

thanks for the repy, Iam trying to get everything lined up so I can go ahead and root my phone. This is probably a silly question but do I back my phone up before or after I root? Thanks again

You will need to flash CWM ALL version of clockwork from HERE flash it the same exact way you flashed the odin package, put it in PDA section

after it is flashed, go to this thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ks/55753-how-voodoo-updated-3-mar-2011-a.html

this method is not just a root it is a complete rewrite of your system, it will over write your operating system and the new operating system happens to be rooted,,,so yes you are going to want to back up your contacts and anything else you may need.

Thanks DroidXcon I really appreciate the help and the walk thru on the first page!

ps hope you feel better

My PC does not recognize the phone when I plug it in.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

I downloaded the USB Driver from the link here and unable to see the phone.

Please help.

Before you connected your phone did you hit the menu capacitive button then go settings=>applications, make sure unknown sources is checked here then on that same page hit development and make sure usb debugging is checked? The usb debugging must be checked for your computer to recognize your phone.

Yes, they are compatible. That is why the theme name has the sc 2.6 in the title to let you know it is compatible with sc 2.6. Just download the file to your sd card then follow the same instructions you followed before in the link in my signature.

Hey DXC just wanted to give you'all props for tweekin and showin us fascinate
folks the joys of 2.2. Anyway I just took my plunge last night and used the EB01. it works awsome, the only thing is I can't get my phone to root. I am wondering if I missed a step? I rooted before you guys had these 2.2s but i had since did an erase back to factory data so i could get Verizons cheesy little 2.1 update. After I try root it says successful but then gives these errors: mount: Operation not permitted
/data/local/tmp/com.sh: cannot create /system/xbin/su: read-only file system
/data/local/tmp/com.sh: cannot create /system/xbin/busybox: read-only file system
/data/local/tmp/com.sh: cannot create /system/app/Superuser.apk: read-only file
system Unable to chmod /system/xbin/su: No such file or directory
Unable to chmod /system/xbin/busybox: No such file or directory

Should I just wipe evrything and start from scratch or do you see something here that I don't?
Shoul
