Re: [ODIN][Released by p3droid] Leaked Gingerbread EC09 Full Stoc

I flashed the EC09 modem only and I have not had any problems. I hope that continues to be the case.
Same. I flashed the modem when it, as a standalone flash, came out and haven't had a lick of trouble (that I could trace back to it).

Re: [ODIN][Released by p3droid] Leaked Gingerbread EC09 Full Stoc

Hi can someone tell me where I can find CommRom 2.1...thanks
I flashed to GB 15 days ago and my SD card is still functional. I finally got around to removing GB and reinstalling Froyo (today). I was trying to find a good ROM but I'm not sure whats available for Fascinate. I was trying to find one on CyangenMod but "Galaxy S" doesn't necessarily equal "SCH-I500". I have seen posts with "SCH-I500 running CM7 " so I'm am going to keep checking...

FYI I've read a lot of posts in a lot of Droid Forums and it appears all Fascinate users have one thing in common -- Enyone I saw who tried GB has moved to something else!

Hater much? The GB we have is a leak, no one said it was perfect. Do you think Cyanogenmod will be perfect using a leaked GB? Absolutely not... Am I on GB? No. I would rather wait for all the kinks to be worked out. But that's why we have others that love trying new things and report their findings, whether they be good or bad. :)

Re: [ODIN][Released by p3droid] Leaked Gingerbread EC09 Full Stoc

Like I said I stayed on it since 7/1 and didn't have any major problems. A lot of earlier posts in this thread were linking GB to SD card failure and as I mentioned my SD card is fine. I went to the GB leak to check out the OS and any of the new features. (I am a developer) I didn't want to go back to Foyo but I also like online games and when the problems started impacting my game play I surrendered.

One positive think I found about GB was the reception. I live in the Blue Ridge and unless I am at home where I have WIFI, it's difficult to use data heavy applications but with GB I always had 3-5 bars--

We do now have CyanogenMod on the Fascinate - CM7. The Fascinate build was just accepted into mainline Cyanogen. You can check it out here:

[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 (fascinatemtd) TEST build 10 - [07/13/11] - xda-developers

It is based on AOSP code, not the GB leak we have. If you want to try it, you have to flash the CWM 3.0 attached at the bottom of the OP, wipe data, cache, and dalvik, then flash the 07/04 build. Phone will reboot automatically, use long press power button menu, choose reboot, choose recovery which will take you to a different CWM (4.0). From there wipe cache and dalvik and flash the 07/13 build and the GAPPs (Google Apps) package, reboot, done. Also after you flash the 074/13 build the CWM will still be 4.0, but it will now be blue.

Even better, the release from yesterday took away the split install process, fixed some more bugs, and interweaved it with CM7 so going forward fixes and features will be faster. It is *definitely* worth spending time on instead of this GB leak that has (and forever will have) a zillion bugs in it.

Heres a freebie even though this falls inside "search for it" territory...

There is no leaked rom for the ED01/04 (the official froyo release) so you have to start with the last rom there was a full leak for (DL09) and work your way up. Use the thread below for advice. Also, contrary to what it says, the OTA updates are "pretty quick", I did the whole deal in about 30 mins after just installing the DL09 files, booting up, and clicking "go" every time it wanted to OTA. If you live in an area with lousy 3G, you might want to consider the file based approach.

Re: [ODIN][Released by p3droid] Leaked Gingerbread EC09 Full Stoc

In root explorer or other file manager navigate to: /system/app/I500_BingSearchAndroid_11122010.apk and rename it with the extension .old..

Simple - debinged.

Used Gingerbreak mentioned in post to root phone, I don't have any other issues working with root apps, CWM, etc, but when I try to rename, delete, etc., this file it states its a read-only file.

I tried to change permissions, but it still says "read-only" file.

Any help here?

You need to rw the partition; if you have the full root kit installed there is a script aptly named "rw" to switch it. Otherwise, you need to use `mount -t rfs -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl9 /system`

Decent number I think. Running EC09 and CyanogenMod 7. Best set up I've ever had. The launcher rocks and for some reason I have 2-3 bars in places I normally get 1-2. The gps still sucks but Ive come to accept thats never going change with this phone. Anyways... thank you devs... thank you for making my wait for the Bionic bearable.

Hey guys, it's been a few months since I've been on these forums and was wondering what the latest and greatest most stable rom was out now? I think the last thing I flashed was the comm rom

Re: [ODIN][Released by p3droid] Leaked Gingerbread EC09 Full Stoc

I flashed to this rom last week and have noticed that my signal levels are better and battery time is better. The only issue I have experienced so far is that I get no audio out using my car dock. I have tried the stock car cradle app and the custom car home app but neither one seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?:-\

You should have read the thread before flashing this. There is a well known issue where the SD cards gets corrupted with this build. Personally I lost my 16GB card to this ROM.

Here is what I suggest you do.
1. Remove the card ASAP from your phone.
2. Put it in a card reader on your PC and try to get all your files off ASAP
3. If you want a VERY good GB experience, flash the CM7 build. The current version is the 6.zip file which is what I am using.

I read through the thread..I thought as long as you remove the card while installing..it didn't effect it..I didn't realize that this could happen after the installation..this really stinks..I can't get any files..my daughters phone say's the card is corrupt..
Flash via Odin?
I have looked for instructions on another build..and couldn't find them on XD forum either..
so, my sd card is trashed right?
Thanks..

Here is what you do...
1. Check out this post
2. Download then ODIN the CWM from the tiny url link
3. Wipe the "big three" Davlik Cache, Regular Cache and Data (make a backup first if you feel like it)
4. Download the latest CM7 update to your SD card (the files is under 100MB so find a card that works)
5. Reboot your phone and enjoy!
6. This is optional. Find yourself a Kernel that you like. This is the advanced class if you are not familiar with what it is.
