Official 6/28 Update Thread - Discuss Here

I've called HTC a few times in the past week and each time they read back to me the "official" statement dated 6/21 which is that HTC intentionally put the cap in place for "overall performance increases", such as battery life. I've never heard about the HDMI drivers excuse from anyone other than other forum posters.

Also, the last time I called (last Friday I believe) they had a new memo dated 6/23 which stated that HTC is "looking into the 30fps cap". I asked the rep what that meant, and he had no additional information. My assumption is that it means they've gotten enough flak from customers to at least take a look at removing it. Whether they will actually do that or not is another matter.

I was gonna say the same thing, I've never read or heard anything fr HTC about the 30 fps been an issue about the HDMI driver, I saw a forum member posted that not official fr HTC so I really believe it will b taking care of on our next update

This is the second update.

I wish they would have also fixed the notification light. Blinking for 5 minutes and then stopping just seems like a bug to me, not a feature.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd update from HTC? I remember the initial one for the SD card but I can't remember if there was one in between.
IIRC, this is the 2nd HTC update since EVO release on 6/4.

EDITED to add: Oops, posted at the same time as Mannyz28

Now my phone will not power up or recognize being plugged into a power source

Let me guess, in the middle of the install you messed with the phone because you thought it was done? the update takes about 10-15mins to complete and you arent suppose to touch your phone. it should just boot right back up to the homescreen when done.

(it goes in and out of screens a couple of times during the update). My guess is that you were just impatient.

Did the htc update, took awhile, wifi signal meter doesn't seen to be any different, less than 4ft away and it shows 1 bar, using wireless n, nothing else seems changed

It also seems that the txt message scrolling issue was fixed. There is another thread about this issue and some people were having the issues while others weren't. When you would try and scroll up to view other txts it would immediately bring you back to the bottom txt. For me at least it seems that this problem is fixed.

Ok, I know that it's been posted already, but the Android Wallpapers are gone after doing the update. I guess it's not a big deal, but there were a couple that I liked. Is there a way to get those back?

Sounds like you have a router and/or phone problem.

I wonder if it's a fix to the signal strength display, or if it's actually getting a better signal now.
It did fix my grounding issue.
Now if I can just remember what that widget was...

It is actually getting a better signal. In my office speed test is 10-15% better throughput (best ever) with the update.:D

I am getting a better signal at my desk. What was before 0-1 bars from the wifi, for the last half hour i've been consistently hovering around 2 bars. Strong wifi signal here at the office though. I'm curious to see what kind of signal it will get at my house. Which is typically pretty weak in the downstairs living room and kitchen.

You guessed wrong, I was in the shower...

Bars seem a little better, but if I use Wifi Analyser, I see a very small difference when it picks up 3 bars. Not too convincing.

keyboard issues

Did it do this for anyone else?
I can no longer long press a key in texting, like it does not bring up the exclamation mark when I hold down "a"... This is very upsetting... I have tried three reboots and one battery pull.

I'm having the same issue. This does suck.
