quote bug I think when quoting a numbered list. the numbering continues outside the quote box....

eg:

1. take this post Rant :From Band 2 to Fitbit Charge 2 - Windows Central Forums
2. remove the all the text except the first numbered item
3. hit enter after the [ / quote ] text and the numbering continues with each new line.

One more thing of note is that I no longer have quick access to who liked or quoted me as of now from the main page

The new design is great. A huge improvement which will have me going to this site more often. Good job.

Nice job, looks more clear, I like the usage of the screen. Dark-mode is allright choice of gradient would be nice

I don't like it. Everything is so huge vertically, my 768p laptop lcd can hardly display 3 or even 2 messages in line. I prefer things, which offer the highest level of utility. Yes, design is rather decent and modern, but it CAN'T be the main reason. However, call me the dinosaur, but I prefer more messages (the wider message field, the better, not some tall message bubbles, which take only 1/2 of the horizontal space.

Folks,

I urge you to give the new template a chance to grow on you. I too had negative feelings, or what an old boss of mine used to refer to as "resistance to change" when I FIRST saw it. But I stuck with it, I provided constructive feedback, AND saw changes I requested or suggested implemented, now I'm really starting to like it!

We still have a ways to go, and you can still affect change! Tell David, and the design team what you like and what's not working as much. Suggest change, and watch it get implemented. As I have said a number of times in this thread be part of this process. We all have such a unique opportunity here to help shape these sites that we all love so much!

I do hope you make it a larger width (can you do it by percentage - so it is different with different monitor sizes). I do like the clean look. Please offer both the light and the dark - the dark is too dark on my PC.

The buttons on the bottom - have hover text, but not the top right corners....

The gray is a little too light on the bluish background - so hard to read Forum posts count.

I DO like the cleaner look of the new forum design....

On the light theme, the background of the quoted text is too light and hard to distinguish.

I think this is a monitor issue and I will look into picking a better color. The one right now really stands out to me one one monitor but not the other

Another suggestion would be to have the profile pic square and not circular, but that is a personal design preference, I know others prefer their circles, it just reminds me of Apple rather then the tiles of a Windows Phone, since on Windows Central forum.

MS has actually switched to circular profile pics starting with Windows 10. Everyone might not like it, but the WC design is at least consistent with current MS guidelines.

I'll look into this for sure - one solution for you now is to click away the right sidebar using the little arrow in top right.

Hiding the right sidebar really helps, but I never noticed the little arrow until you mentioned it. It's easy to miss since it looks very similar to the little AdChoices arrow. How about adding a label so it's easier to identify?

This actually keeps happening. I'll do a bit more investigating. I'm on a VPN right now, but I don't think that will make a difference i how the page renders considering it renders corrently when I open it from the actual page instead of an external link.

Update. I'm on an entirely different network now, no VPN, and the issue does not happen.

I will try again at home on VPN to see if that's the cause. The weird thing is....I'm wired in to the network I was VPN'ing to at home when I saw the issue!

Also, after shutting my laptop down and booting it back up (on a different network) I was reverted back to the old style instead of the new template. I had to find the blog article again and click through the links to enable it.

I think it looks good! I like the dark theme although on my monitor the text is a little too dark to read comfortably. With the light theme, all of the colors (ie quoted text) show up well. All of the functions I tested seem to be working well. I will say that less than 50% of the screen is being used for the posts... closer to 35% on my widescreen monitor... I know you want room for ads but that seems like a bit much, and even with ads there is still a lot of empty space.

Okay, so I was playing around with a couple CSS colour and spacing modifications. Since style is all relative, feel free to take or leave my suggestions.
