Received my update during the early morning here in St Petersburg, FL. Waited until later in the morning to update, no problems during the update. Cycled the phone on and off a few times, as I usually have when doing updates in the past. The only problem I had AT ALL was solved here in the forum with the non-native email not being visible, which was corrected by changing the font size to "small". Otherwise very pleased. Contact icons look perfect, no funky cartoon appearance to the screen, no USB storage problems. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that something doesn't pop up in the next day or two.

Waited and Got it Monday morning. Updated. Running great so far. I'm in northwest DC.

Middle of the screen. Can't miss it. Also gives options to update now or later.

installed update on my way to work......battery wore out fast this morning.....had to recharge battery after lunch.....not sure if I have the problem of the battery wearing out quickly as others have reported.....sigh......other than that everything seems to be running okay....

No Update as of yet, surprised becauce the last one came the first day introduced oh well patience is a virtue right so wait I will and hope no problems develops

Got the update but notice that the email app is not displaying my emails. I haven't noticed an improvement on gps yet.

Also the new phones look weird on the screen. It looks like lines are really jagged.

I got the update yesterday and have experienced problems with different browsers not scrolling properly. Issues aside I don't really see the hype. Other than having chrome now and the new youtube Im not impressed. Maybe Im missing some new things I should download.

Got the update yesterday 7:00am and I press back buttom all the time that the notification pop out and clearing the notification bar. Now i dont have it anymore, any ideas? Do i have to call sprint so they push it to my phone again? Do i need to do the manual update? Or if the file is on my phone how can do the update? Please help!!!!

And the update has killed my battery life. I'm SOL if I can't get through a day of work on a full charge. Only about 2 hours of actual use in that time.

This happens all the time on dated models. They release an update the phone can't handle, leaving it worse than it was before and they ditch it.

Guess imma get suckered into the s3 or htc.

Got my OTA update on monday night, installed tuesday morning. Battery life is improving as the day wears on. Best thing to do is remove the active percentages on the battery meter, doesn't look nearly as dire if you can't read actual percentage, lol. I think the screen looks a little more pixelated and fonts look less smooth with the actual update. I stopped using samsung's touchwiz and moved over to stock ICS with sprintID. Played with the facial unlock a little and after a day of using it have turned it off. What I find to be most odd, however, is that while my device received the OTA update on Monday evening, the other 3 devices on my account have yet to receive their OTA updates. Is anyone else feeling that there probably won't be a maintenance update to this release, and we're pretty much on our own from this point? I sure am!

i hope not because the release is buggy (for me at least), especially with wifi.

I forget where it is in the Gingerbread ROM, but in the settings menu there should be an option to "Check for firmware updates". I believe it's under Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates. Anyhoo, dig around the settings menu a bit and look for an update firmware option. Hitting that should trigger the update notification. If it does not, try rebooting. Either way, your phone should prompt you about the update again before long.

I'd bite the bullet and do a factory reset. I know it's a pain reinstalling all your apps, but you probably have an Application and/or App Data not playing nice with the ICS firmware. A factory reset and clean install will probably solve your battery issues.

I've had just about every ICS build leaked for this phone and I promise you ... this phone handles ICS just fine.

The huge improvements in ICS for me:

1) Drag and drop folders. The folders in GB were butt ugly and had to be manually closed when you went back to the home screen. The folders in ADW Luancher were ICS-like except that they only displayed 8 or 12 tiles before you had to scroll (and 12 only if the folder icon was on the very top or very bottom row). ICS displays up to 16 with no need for scrolling. Now I can load up on direct dial and direct message shortcuts and stuff them into folders. Also, it's not as flaky as ADW, where I would accidentally move two icons too close to each other and create a folder. I would have to move all the icons out of the folder and then delete that folder. In ICS, if you have two icons left in a folder and drag one out, you're left with two separate icons and no folder remnant.

2) Swiftkey works with the mail app now. After the SK3 upgrade, the keyboard would behave strangely in the mail app. Mostly, the auto correct would not start. Sometimes it would start after I started typing. But there were times when the entire keyboard and mail program would lock up, and I had to battery pull to recover. Now SK3 works flawlessly.

3) Adding widgets is so much easier, especially when you're adding a bunch of direct dial shortcuts. It took me very little time to rebuild my entire quick dial folders. It would have taken me 10 times longer in GB.

4) Love the Roboto font.

5) Love the ICS task manager. The GB one only showed 6 apps max, and sometimes didn't show the program I had just used.

6) Swiping away individual notifications is a nice touch.

I can't say this is an earth shattering update, but then again, they never really are. But lots of smaller things that make my life easier.

Got it on Monday! I'm in Oklahoma.

The first message I got was "Unfortunately, com.samsung internal has stopped." :p So that was something.

Then I had Sywpe problems, but thankfully that's been fixed. I didn't like the other keyboard.

Things I like:
The App Drawer
The new camera features
shiny new ICS versions of apps

Not really anything specific I dislike yet. I was looking at Lifehacker's first look at ICS post, and there are things mentioned there that I wish I had (new gallery and calendar app), though those may just be Nexus specific...

Pre-ICS, my phone burned up a lot of battery because of all the data networks I passed through on my train ride and the sketchy reception they provided. By the time I hit the office, it could be as low as 60%. Typically, it was somewhere in the low 70's.

Post ICS, and my phone had 85% battery when I got to my desk. Impressive.

I know that ICS and GB are 95% the same and that had they never had the ICS update, I would have gone along my merry way without issue (actually, I was shocked that it came this early to the ET4G -- even more shocked that it hit before the Evo 3D). But now that I have it, it feels like a brand new phone. I realized that 90% of that feeling is due to the new font -- every program and screen looks updated, which is the illusion of newness I'm seeing from apps that I've used countless times before in GB.

And the option to use the stock ICS launcher screen instead Touchwiz has been the best part of the upgrade. Stock ICS launcher is so good that I ditched ADW. But you'll have to pry Widgetlocker from my cold, dead, hands. It's still incredibly useful.
