1 Apple is on their "holy crusade" to do away anything with android
2 the back cover was flimsy on the s3 and they stopped production to change the battery cover to a different material.

And the rumors and leaks from trusted "contacts" begins again! I remember the Galaxy Nexus, there were new rumors every hour on the hour, new leaks at least once a day, general gnashing of teeth and threads all about how Verizon was/is the devil incarnate and was holding up the release of the GN at the explicit orders of lucifer himself.

I'm not saying the above information is wrong, I don't know you. What I do know is that when this sort of stuff starts up we seem to hear new and generally bogus rumors constantly.

I'll know when the GS3 is released when it shows up in my hands, and frankly, that's good enough for me as rumors and unattributed "contacts" are just more rumors.

The part about the battery cover i do believe is true.

I recall reading that on the initial European launch the blue (I think it was just blue) S3 was delayed due to bad battery covers. I however do not recall it being something recent that will delay the North American launch. Perhaps he is referring to that episode.

You know the info may or may not be true. My only point is that I don't have any way of confirming its validity. And also, even if you know him personally unless he's shown you documents from Verizon it still doesn't mean it's true. Beyond that, as far as I'm concerned it will be delayed if I don't receive it on July 9th. AND, even if that does turn out to be the case I'm not going to get excited about it because there is nothing I can do about that anyway. I'll be happy when it shows up and I'm holding it, I can wait for that time whenever it is.

My point is that it is just pointless to get all caught up in rumors and the old my friend who is in some corporate office somewhere says so and so. Been through that with the Thunderbolt and again with the GN. I'm not playing that game anymore, people will have to play without me.

I have no pictures or proof, but my brother works at Costco and the manager of the phone kiosk showed him on the computer that verizon is releasing the gs3 on the 28th. That seems to match some other sources floating around. I tried to get him to take a picture but he didn't want to get in trouble. They are supposed to be getting them for other carriers on the 23rd.

Since I'm only 6 months into my contract, the manager said I can come in and add a line, then just put a dumb phone on it and cancel the data plan. Gonna dual wield it with my nexus. Then pass it on to my wife when the next nexus comes out and sell both her nexus and mine.

Always enjoy your input...LazerRocketarm..I spoke with a manager from AT&T retail store. She said...there is a big Issue with Apple, and they have been instructed to tell customers to expect a delay. Apple has asked for an Emergency Hearing to stop the Sammy and a bunch of others. Samsung offered Apple a Enema and Bannana.
I hope your right.... I got screwed with a Atrix2, I'm going to put a .45 bullet in of as soon as I get my replacement. But remember, AT&T isn't influenced by their customers, and Apple can and will yank their chain around their neck...(I-Phone)
I would love to see the GS-3 surface this weekend, I hope it does and I also hope Samsung teaches Apple a lesson.

Samsung issued a statement yesterday stating that it plans to fight a recent patent infringement claim that was filed by Apple earlier this week.

The claim accused Samsung of violating patents held by Apple for its Siri voice-controlled assistant and other UI patents.

In the statement Samsung stated that it plans to "demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S3 is innovative and distinctive." The company hopes to accomplish this before June 21, the day when the Galaxy S3 is scheduled to launch on most major U.S. carriers.

The patent infringement would ban the sale of the device in areas throughout the U.S., Australia and Europe.

Apple's current CEO Tim Cook recently met with the head of Samsung in a court session aimed at settling their ongoing smartphone war that Apple began last year.

A judge has tentatively thrown out the suit between Apple and Moto. AT&T must feel that the case is without merit to be taking pre-orders. The judge would have to issue the injunction before AT&T can be compelled to stop. As long as it has not been issued, the phone can continue to be pre-ordered. Customer like have already signed contract extensions. If the injunction is issued after June 13th, it would appear that delivery can be completed. As Samsung makes the chips for Apple products, Apple can't afford to make Samsung mad.

1.As of now, there is no delay. The AT&T S3 will be shipping on the 18th and available on the 21st. Whether there will be a delay is not known yet.

2. The delay in production of the pebble blue was not because it was flimsy. It was because of some problem with the color or hyperglaze. There is a statement from Samsung somewhere I believe.
