Oh boy! Mate 9 is available in the US, will you switch?

Wow, a 5.9-inch phone that feels good in the hand and feels great to hold sounds awesome! I want to hold one now! Glad you found an app workaround for the ringtone and notification volume, and that you are enjoying it!

The LCD display, 1920 x 1080, is a deal breaker for me, and I'm certainly not going to spend twice as much for the Porsche Design. I'll wait and see what Samsung does with the S8 series. I'm a survivor of two Note 7s (best phone ever if you discount explosions) and I hope to get an S8 at a reduced price.

Have you seen and handled the Mate 9? Before you spend big $$$ on Samsung I would look at the screen in the flesh. It compares well with my Nexus 6P which has the AMOLED screen.

I am liking it so far. Nice big 5.9 screen that does not feel big at all in the hands. Easy and comfortable to hold. 1080p resolution is just fine.

Battery life is superb. After 7 hours of use, I am only at 64%. Performance is very speedy and responsive and EMU 5.0 is much better.

A cons is that they decided to have both ringtones and notification volume tone be controlled the same, instead of separate. After looking around, I found the app Volume Control, which can separate both ringtones and notification tones, which solved that problem.

Overall, I am liking it very much.

I have a 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus in addition to my Mate 9 and they are about the same size! (Mate 9 screen is bigger it has smaller bezels) Also my 5.2 inch Microsoft 950 is NOT that much smaller!
