Re: Let's Take A Clear And Objective Look At This
I realize in reality the SD card is no longer needed. On the battery subject, my only disagreement is the true fact that these Li batteries DO begin to noticeably lose their charge capacity after about 8-10 months. Everyone focuses this conversation around the ability to change their battery out for daily extended use, but it's not really about that. It's about being able to replace the battery every 6 months to keep up the longevity. I have a Galaxy S4, and I don't really find myself switching the battery out due to daily use very often (< once a month), but I absolutely do replace the battery with a brand new one every 6 months. I have 1 year, 7 months ownership at this point, and I get maximum battery life still thanks to that.
The fact is the Galaxy S6 is going to suffer the same slow battery death iPhone users experience after 1+ years of use.
If I end up on a Verizon Edge plan that allows me to upgrade the phone after 1.5 years, that last 6 months is really going to stink. And for what? Aesthetics? That pretty glass back is going to be covered up with an all-encompassing plastic case anyhow so I don't shatter it when I invariably drop it. Gorilla Glass 4 is twice as strong, yes, but testing shows it still shatters 20% of the time the phone is dropped.
My point is for a cell phone, function should take precedence over form. I think Sammie just gave up their edge, and due to that, a lot of their following.
