On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

Can someone explain what would need to happen to replace the batter in an S6 that could no longer hold an acceptable charge?

For example, my wife's old S4 had a battery issue where after 1 year, it wouldn't hold a charge for more than just a few hours. I went on eBay and bought a generic replacement battery for a few dollars. It worked like new again and held a charge for almost 2 days at a time.

What would one have to do if the same issue occurred in the S6 but it was beyond warranty?

You would have to take it into a dealer and pay for them to replace the battery. Unless you are brave enough to do it yourself. There are instructions on how to do it but it is not straight forward.

Any idea what that costs these days with existing phones?

I saw both the s6 and edge yesterday and the regular s6 is so much nicer. The screen on the edge looks visibly smaller. The fe of the s6 verse the edge is just so much more premium. Of course test them for yourself but I like the s6 better. In terms of purchasing one, I'm not sure of just yet. Need to see what lg has in store. But wow the s6 is one sexy piece of equipment lol

LG G4 is quite ugly when compared to the S6.
However, the G4 does have MicroSD card slot
and removable battery.

Forget the SD card slot missing.

The S6 is an excellent phone.
You can probably have 2 weeks to try the phone out

already returned it... can't live without MicroSD slot and non-removable battery. :(

(but I do agree that it's a great phone!)

They make a deal to plug into the bottom of your phone. And its a USB flash drive, Everything you store on a SD card you can store in the USB card that plugs in the bottom of your phone.
Samsung man showed me a few weeks ago.
I can't keep up with everything I've been shown.

I've seen those but then, that is another device you have to carry with you. An SD card fits inside the phone and is always there ready to use.

I still got a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I gave my Wife. I know all about how a SD card works.
But Samsung no longer makes a 16gb phone.
If you need that much room get a larger phone.
Samsung said with the speed of the Processor and memory, The SD card slowed the phone down.
It also caused Battery drain with the Sd card.
Seemed the battery drain and the speed of the phone wasn't as a big of a deal as the Processor and the new style Flash drive and all.
Samsung was trying to make a fast phone processor. Making it go from 32 Bit technology to 64 bit technolocy.
Make more and faster Ram memory. and a faster flash drive and a better battery, with less battery drain. Seems the phone learns as you go and changes.
And a screen with more pixels.
And a faster shutter speed camera.
They came out with a newer office program.

Can't do all this and keep the sd card & removable battery.

Guess you got to see where you priorities are.
What is in Samsungs future, who knows.

But i like my S6 better than any phone I've owned.
I opted for the 64 gb model.

I for sure thought the no sd card would be the deal breaker for me, but in all honesty, I don't even miss it. I have 1TB of space on Dropbox and I use the AT&T Locker so as long as my pictures and documents are safe, I'm happy

Google has a picture drive and organizer for your pictures. Where ever you long into you can see your pictures.
That is really cool.

Oh that is tooo Big and incovienent for you to carry and use.
The Samsung Man showed me that a few weeks ago.

Know its not in the phone. But its a heck of a great option.

Thanks for sharing .
Maybe it will help some of the people having a hard time coming over.....

The Meenova one didn't look too big to me. The Leaf one does.

I saw the meenova one in a wwjoshdew video where he was showing 4 or 5 different options to use as a alternative. Meenova was one of them. 2 coulds use a microsd card, the others had the memory built in.

That battery case looks cool. Luckily the have one for the S6 edge as well. I may just order one as well. The only thing that worries me is will it muffle the sound or not. It shouldn't as the speaker is at the bottom and is a short curve to the front. But I remember trying a Morphie on a S5 and boy was the sound muffled. Even with volume up, if it was in my pocket, I very rarely heard it ring, especially at work.
