On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

Apple has already proven that removable batteries and sd cards won't hurt sales. Samsung is in business to make as much money as it can. Most people don't give a damn about removable batteries and sd cards. The biggest complaint from consumers was always cheap feeling build quality. Samsung has finally addressed that. Even Google has abandoned the replaceable battery and sd card. My droid Ultra (great phone BTW) also has a non removable battery and no sd slot. and that doesn't bother me at all.

everybody I know has SD cards in their phones and tablets.
It makes a lot of importance to me. And I'm the only one that counts.

The one concern is that the S6 will eventually need a new battery. If it's such a good phone I'd keep it more than 2 years but would the battery last? I know that you can change the battery on an iPhone (some of them anyway) with some hassle or a visit to the store so maybe Samsung's will be able to be replaced with a visit too? Who knows, too early in the game but maybe all is not lost.

The other factor is the size. Without the replaceable battery and SD card the phone is the same width, thinner, and just a few mm bigger than my GS3 and that's a big deal to me. I don't like big phones at all. This one might just be the perfect phone for me...still waiting for the G4 tho.

Still see iPhone 4 out in the streets, if Samsung makes it easy to change the battery like iPhone it shouldn't be a problem, if not then that's a problem.

Battery should easily last for 2 years.

It's funny, on the iPhone I don't even consider wanting a removable battery or SD card. ...and I've had a "few" iPhones. I think it was just something I'd gotten used to with Samsung phones. I hope the Note line doesn't lose them but If it does it does. I'll cross that bridge....

??????VI+??????

Got a neighbor with a 16gb Iphone 5S.
Software update came in on her phone. She couldn't do the update.
She had 2400 pictures she had to delete off her phone and I can't tell you how many apps.
Then after she did the update, and put everything back on the phone. About a month later another update came in.
She was totally upset.
The mfg are charging too much for the phones. And for the size of the hard drive.
A SD card would help solve the size of the hard drive.

Just like the Carriers are charging too much for data and using the phone.

An SD card would not help the situation you described, you need available on-board storage.

The only deal breaker for me is the glass back. I drop my S5 like crazy and the worst thing that's happened are some chips in the metallic paint on the band when I dropped it into a parking lot. Now I have to worry about the back shattering.

Don't understand how you figure it wouldn't help.

Have all my pictures, ringtones and a lot of apps on my SD card.
All I would have to do is pull the 64gb sd card out and put it in my new phone.

And with doing a Update. if all the pictures, apps, ringtones wasn't on the phone, you can do a update to your system because it has hard drive that is not used.

So is the edge not gonna break easier than the regular S6 if you drop it.

I still have the original battery on my note 3 and I got it on the launch day. Battery is still fantastic. Last from 7am through 10pm easily and I use it a lot. Hoping the battery on the S6 will be as good.

So how many people are gonna pre order your S6, and you gonna order the Edge or the regular S6 ?
Need to do a poll.

My wife has the original from her Note 2 lol!

Heck, I still have the original GS3 battery...but it only makes it a half day when out and about though. Time for an upgrade!!

Not me, gonna wait for the G4 to make a decision, by the time the S6 is ready in the stores the G4 rumor/leak mill should be in high gear.

In order to upgrade your system you need available internal storage. You will never be able to move enough apps to do that if your internal storage is that full, not all that many apps function from the SD card properly. Pictures don't actually take up that much space, same with ringtones, which should be on internal storage anyway, because if anything happens to the SD card it screws up your ringtone configuration.

Not to mention SD cards require more power than eMMC or UFS, so keeping live data on them reduces battery life. Just FYI. ;)

Lack of a removable battery is a deal breaker for me.

My wife and I actually swap batteries in our S3's at times when we are out, one of us needs juice badly, and charging is either not convenient or possible. That option is now off the table, as would be a spare battery. I also replace the batteries in our phones after about a year. By then, you can get a high-quality higher-capacity replacement for very little since the phone is no longer the current model. That capability is also now off the table.

And what replaces it? A fingerprint magnet slick back that can shatter. Yeah, like I want even more glass on my phone. And for that I give up a replaceable battery and SD card expansion. Not even close to a fair trade.

Frankly, I would be upset about the SD card as well if my S3 didn't eat them. Way to condition me not to rely on it Samsung. Nice planning.

I know everyone is falling over themselves in love with this thing, but I just don't see it. It appears to be the "Apple-ization" of Samsung - almost completely about the packaging at the expense of functionality. Seriously, plastic grips well and is rugged. How good is that metal frame going to look in six months after some bumps and drops? Get back to me on that.

Yes, the F1.9 rear camera is nice, as is the built-in wireless charging. Great job on that Samsung. You are only behind Palm with built-in wireless charging by about 6 years...and they managed to have a removable back on those devices.

No, it's not going to do it for me. I waited for the official announcement to be sure, but now that it is clear that the S6 is mostly about packaging at the expense of functionality and is nowhere near bloatware free, I'll be picking up a Note 4 to replace my aging S3.

Of course, I am almost certainly in the minority. Shiny fancy things will resonate with most Americans. I am sure they will sell like hotcakes.

Re: Samsung S6

I'm very disappointed in Samsung's decision to omit the SD card slot and seal the battery. Sometimes, part of the fix for a problem involves removing the battery... that won't be possible with the S6. No SD card slot will mean tiered pricing for the S6 based on storage size, and no way to move up if you find you really need more storage.

I personally do not care if the back of my phone is metal, glass, or plastic. It's well covered and well protected by a case.

You can simulate a battery pull by holding in power button

Without an SD Card or a removable battery, I will not buy a S6. Maybe if the S6 Active comes out it will offer these options? Otherwise I may have to upgrade my S4 to a S5 or go somewhere else.

I would say both. To rank them, The SD card is out of the gate THE deal breaker. I like the fact that removing the battery helps in a hard reset. Lately though I have not had to do that hard of a reset. So it'll have to be the Galaxy Note 4 for the next 2 years OR until Samsung gets it right on the S7 meaning, all the whiz bang software of the S6, metal frame PLUS the SD card slot and removable battery.
