One plus unintended navigation

Hello Guys,

Whenever I am using keypad on OnePlus 6 with Gmail or WhatsApp the phone suddenly navigates to home screen or switches to a background app.
It's only a week since I purchased the phone, I have even checked it with hard factory reset.
Kindly let me know the solution for this

Most likely your accidentally hitting the home or back button while your typing

Welcome to Android Central! Does this also happen when you're typing in landscape orientation?

Thanks for your reply.
I could not simulate it in landscape, I tried several times.
I am pretty sure I am not accidentally pressing the nav bar button.
Because whenever I type I carefully observe what I am typing.

Do you have a screen protector on? If so, and if it's not fitted correctly, it could be causing false touches in the button area.
