OTA link

Installed without a hitch so to speak. On the reboot after all was done it stuck and held on the new Droid Eye. After about 10 minutes I decided I'd pull the battery (it wouldn't power down) and restart the phone.

It started up and went past the Eye with no issues. So far, it seems fine and I've noticed some speed improvements in areas where you need to pull up large lists of things such as apps. Nothing else seems a miss, all the data and programs still there and the flashlight will actually blind your co-workers ... I had to test this personally.

I'm new to this so I need some help. I downloaded the OTA. I see it listed in the Bluetooth File transfer app with the really long name. How do I copy and move it to the sd card? Also, how do I rename it?

Astro File Manager, its in the market

Updated this morning with the zip, seemed to work fine. However, I'm trying to load webpages with flash and the flash content is not loading. Does it have to be enabled through the browser settings somewhere?

Check the market for 'Adobe Flash' and make sure you even have it installed. Some people have reported it as not installed yet.

So, I am in a whole world of trouble. I rooted with uneEVOked, then installed a custom kernel. I would like to install froyo. I would be willing to unroot if I have to, but am not sure how. Can anyone help?

Finally got mine updated.

Two quick things:
- System Panel now shows nearly every app as "active." I still have plenty of memory available, but it never did this before. Anyone notice?

- I thought the photo gallery was supposed to change? Am I missing something?

I apologize if these have been addressed - it's been a long morning.

HTC didn't include the stock gallery. Luckily, AC has us covered. Here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/android-applications/25648-froyo-gallery-app-get-here.html

from what I have read before, if you have rooted your phone and used the S-off function, then you must flash the original RUU back to the phone because the phone needs the original boot .....something.... and not clock work or amund ra....

Which makes the whole endevour wasteful. You're much better off simply rooting on 2.1, flashing the 2.15 radio and installing the already rooted 2.2 ROM. It is now confirmed all the md5's match etc.

should I delete the update.zip from the sd card once my udate is complete?
I was able to get the update to run ...awsome direction and thanks for the links...
it is a bit faster and a little more refined looking

teslatech, thanks a lot for posting this update! Found your post through one of my RSS subscriptions. The Incredible is my first Android phone (coming from iPhone), so I'm gonna visit this forum much more frequently.

I was able to follow the instructions and get the update successfully installed (downloaded file, rename with Astro app, then copy to /sdcard root location). I noticed that Verizon and/or HTC added a bunch of extra unneeded apps (setting some of these to auto sync), but I did noticed the speed improvement right away. I had the GUI animations disabled since they one with my phone, but after the update I still noticed the windows/menus come up faster than before which is good. I also noticed that they change a bit the GUI for the txt messaging app. It looks a little more polished than before. However, I was getting used to the location of the keys and noticed they did minor changes to the location of some symbols. Will try to give further updates as I play more with the phone.

Cheers!

Problem!!!

I loaded the FROYO and everything seemed to go FINE until it got to the home screen (after it rebooted and did all that jazz). EXCEPT NOWWW:

My messages will not work!

I can not recieve or send text messages. When I open either Handcent or "Messages" (native app), it lags for about 30 seconds and then force closes!

Help!

Thanks in advance
