OTA link

Yes delete the update.zip. As for my problem with mine not working, I got it! Turns out that I had unrooted to prepare for the 2.2 OTA and never reapplied the OTA update from back in May when I first got the phone. Installing this yummy Froyo as we speak. Thanks to XDA Developers!!!!!!!!!

Which makes the whole endevour wasteful. You're much better off simply rooting on 2.1, flashing the 2.15 radio and installing the already rooted 2.2 ROM. It is now confirmed all the md5's match etc.

DAMMIT .... where were you 10 minutes ago.... i installed the froyo update and now I cannot root...

Thank you so much for sharing this link!! I couldn't wait to update to Froyo. I had a minor problem with it restarting, but after that it works fine so far!

Did anybody get the screen that had a phone with the track ball lit and arrows above in circle shape? What was that part for? it seemed like i was supposed to press the optical nav.

pardon me if i missed this instruction up the pages. i pressed the down volume and it went on, showed writing image then finished and rebooted.

Try an app called MultIcon. It's awesome! It allows you to put 4 icons in the space of one normal icon.

tried to download couldn't figure out

i tried to download and i couldn't figure it out. this is my first time trying to do something like this. can some ine help.

2nd post after installation. I'm gonna wait and judge on how the "new and improve service management system" works (I uninstalled ATK before the Froyo update), but it seems that Verizon decided to preload a lot of unneeded services right out of the bat. Why does the pre-loaded Amazon MP3 app and other non-stock apps need to start when I turn on my phone. This is not an essential app for normal phone operation. I can understand if the app stays in the background after I opened it, but why does the app needs to be initialized on boot up? If battery life gets worse than my stock 2.1 with ATK I might end up rooting the phone. Let's see how it goes this week (sigh).

I did the factory wipe and still run into problems with unrevoked... says it fails to flash recovery...still...

Thank you sir! Up and running froyo goodness. Some apps look so much better (ie. gtalk)! Also seems like it loads a bit faster.

Is there a way to shut off the "Droid" voice on boot up? I know I was able to do it for my gf's droid1 a while ago but is there a way to do it for this?

edit: I forgot to mention that if you have the shapewriter keyboard installed, it still works perfectly (I have not encountered any errors with it yet).

Super frustrated. I have unrevoked3 and unrevoked forever (s-off) on my phone. I cannot remove the alternate bootloader from the phone and cannot get back to the default HTC software. I just want to install froyo. don't care about root or anything at this point. PLEASE HELP!

update

okay did the update from android central. all the **bleep** stress i did waiting, i decided to do it...lol

it was quick and painless besides having to do minor extra steps to do it versus the OTA. it took less than 10 minutes. has everything they said it would. call clarity seems crisp on the speaker the voice dialing is cool. good job to all involved

now i am wondering i thought in this update the home screen would beable to go landscape. correct me if i am wrong but i thought that was one of the changes. froyo is good for you...lol

also i put the "No Lock" app back so i can use any one of the keys to wake the phone and avoid the screen swipe. let me know if there is another option.

1. Download the PB31IMG.zip and place it onto your SD card. Make sure your card is formatted FAT32 or it won't work.

2. Turn your phone off.

3. Reboot your phone into hboot. (hold down volume down + power)

Now once your phone get into the boot loader you will see a blue bar show up on the right side of the screen. It is checking and verifying the PB31IMG.zip file.

4. It will ask you "Do you wish to install" press volume up to select yes.

5. It will flash the file do it's thing and then ask if you wish to reboot your phone. Press volume up for yes.

Once your phone reboots you are back to a 1.00 radio stock non-rooted 2.1. Await your update.

Registerd as new, but I read this site and the forums daily. I have updated, and did it all with the DInc. Rocking the Froyo 2.2 and love it. Thanks guys.

Installed without a hitch so to speak. On the reboot after all was done it stuck and held on the new Droid Eye. After about 10 minutes I decided I'd pull the battery (it wouldn't power down) and restart the phone.

It started up and went past the Eye with no issues. So far, it seems fine and I've noticed some speed improvements in areas where you need to pull up large lists of things such as apps. Nothing else seems a miss, all the data and programs still there and the flashlight will actually blind your co-workers ... I had to test this personally.

Mine also hung on the eye for about 5-10 minutes. I then also pulled the battery and now everything is working perfectly.
