So I tried the OTA update and I constantly get force closes and can't connect to the mobile network. I'm still showing on Baseband version 1.00.03.04.06. I did root a few weeks back using unrevoked3, would that have anything to do with it? HELP

I downloaded it and everything worked perfectly. Or seemed to work perfectly. Every time I connect to the Internet the page loads (much faster now) and after a second or two the page disappears and it goes back to my home page. Any suggestions or help?

Update: My opera browser works fine. But the stock browser will not allow me to stay connected to the Internet. Any help guys? Anyone else having this issue?

How to get SWYPE Working with 2.2

Uninstall "Swype Keyboard" but NOT THE SWYPE INSTALLER.

Launch the Swype Installer, it will prompt you for the credentials you used when you signed up for the beta program.

It will download and install Swype.

Change input methods as you have done in the past, and enjoy Swype on Froyo.

This is for those that didn't see the condensed version in previous posts.

For those of us using the awesome multitouch keyboard that was ripped from a droid X and posted to XDA. It appears to not work with Froyo. too bad. That keyboard was super fast.

just installed the update and waiting on my phone to finish rebooting. I'm so excited I saw the new splash screen so I guess it installed correctly. I have a question though as my screen comes on sense tries to load but continues to force close. now I'm scared

Thats the trick you cant hide the extensions when you rename it or you get that error it can be update.zip.zip , its got just to be update.zip lol rebooting now

I renamed the file to just 'update' (in case the .zip was hiding somehow) but that didn't work. Renamed again to 'update.zip', but still hit the same error... maybe a sign I should just wait for the OTA.

Can someone please tell me if this will work if I am rooted? I did not run unrevoked forever or update my radio or anything, just used the one click unrevoked root. Can I still manually update without doing anything else first??

It kept trying to finish the upgrade, then reboot, then try to finish, reboot, etc... I finally got back to my homescreen once, but it force closed when I opened the app drawer and started the whole reboot process over again.

if you are getting this your file extentions are hidden....so go under sd card and on the uppdate.zip just simply REMOVE THE .ZIP so the file just reads "UPDATE"

I was having the same issue but after removing the .zip, it worked perfectly!!

hey eveverybody i'm having a problem.. my phone was rooted i did the update and went by the directions with the zip folder adding it to the sd card it installed and rebooted but when i restarts the phone it starts acting up lagging i have no service and the phone wont load up correctly.... im not sure what i did wrong and how i could fix the problem but im pretty much out of a phone right now if anybody could help thanks

Downloaded it to my phone, and renamed and moved to root with oi file manager. No problems at all Quick and easy. Many, many thanks to the OP

ok so HTC sense continues to try loading but force closes. It won't let navigate through my screens or anything so I can't disable sense. I've tried turning my phone off and back on now I'm really scared!!

Just installed the 2.2 update and noticed my inbox (stock mail, primary acct) is empty. Sent/Trash have current items but inbox is empty, even after a reboot.
