I'm getting this as well

Is your phone rooted with Unrevoked?

can someone please answer my question!? I am rooted with unrevoked, did not run unrevoked forever, did not update my radio, did not flash any custom ROMS or any of that. can I download the update.zip directly to my phone and upgrade manually by following the steps on the main page of AC?

No you need to revert to the stock recovery.

Is automaddux's post accurate? I updated without a factory reset and everything seems to work fine. Should I now back-up, run the update file again and then reinstall everything?

I use the appbrain app as well and it suggested updates for the Amazon MP3, Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash. Any recommendations on going through with the update here?

Also, I have Swype installed -- seems whatever version of it that I got my hands on still works post the upgrade.

Lastly, the Droid Eye boot up anime seems to hang a little before Sense shows up -- any thoughts there. Could be be because I didn't factory reset or perhaps due to Swype?

THANKS!!! All-in-all, very happy I updated...

No you need to revert to the stock recovery.

Thank you. Would I be better off just running the unrevoked forever and then doing the manual update? Then I would still have root access, right?

Would I also need to update my radio or would just doing the unrevoked forever be enough?

So, my options are unroot (revert to stock recovery) OR run unrevoked forever, then I can do the manual update...?

Woot. Glad I finally got some sleep. Glad to see everyone getting updated loaded.

Problems I had with mine. When I went to to the update, finally after making sure peeps had success with the link, my updated failed. I had to totally stock system but i had remove just one piece of bloatware using titanium. So I re did clockwork , reloaded a backup I had, then reloaded the stock recovers and bam! I got my update.

SO anyone running into the red triangle and '!' make sure your system really is stock! It needs to verify the other programs are there.

Download and update to Froyo worked as advertised for me and my Dinc.

Everything seems to be working just fine (or better) with one exception. My beta version of Swype wouldn't work after the update. Me and my fat fingers *love* Swype. So I simply re-downloaded and re-installed Swype and all is well again.

Kudos and thanks to AndroidCentral and all the posters for all their helpful postings.

ok so here is how it goes, a few weeks ago i rooted with unrevoked3 and installed sky raider rom. didn't like how my gps didn't work so i found the original 2.1 rom and went back to that. then i did the unroot method from the youtube video to get everything back to stock, bootloader, stock recovery...everything is stock now.

now when i try to do this update, as soon as i go into recovery i get the red triangle with the ! and i get the e:/recovery/cache/command error thing and then finally when it tries to verify the update i get the status 7 error.

and no my update file does not say .zip.zip

what the heck is going on!

Worked for me

Thanks Teslatech and AC. The file worked for me. Now I'm just trying to notice the real differences.

How do you do this with ClockWork Recovery?

That you'll have to figure out for yourself; it depends on how you are rooted and if you want to S-off. Helpful threads here: Droid Incredible Android Development - xda-developers

If you want S-Off: public:forever [RootWiki] ("Installing an official recovery").

Thank you. Would I be better off just running the unrevoked forever and then doing the manual update? Then I would still have root access, right?

It looks like people with S-off are having trouble with the OTA over at XDA, so I would probably do the RUU, yes. I don't know about the radio, but I know this build updates the radio to 2.15, so your probably best off not touching the radio and just doing S-ff and the RUU. Qazme will know better, if he shows up in this thread. There are threads on this in the root forum here, too.

Just a heads up for Over The Air Downloads. After the file is downloaded open Astraware and rename the file to update.zip. You then have to move the file, so long press the update.zip, tap edit, tap copy, tap UP until you see the SD Card folder, tap that folder, place file here....THEN do the update and it should work. Until I moved it, I kept getting that abort update error.

Good luck.

PS. Take the extra second to click the little thank button for Teslatech for giving us this gift and logan78511 for the instructions.

Thanks again. It almost seems like just unrooting or reverting back to stock would be easier (for my simple mind) and then applying the update manually. I've found a couple videos/instructions on how to unroot, but my last question is can I unroot without a PC? Can I download the file directly to my Incredible and then rename/run it??

THANK YOU:cool:

caught from logcat

Enjoy

Added. Scroll down and look at Madrox quoted text for how he got it to work.

Add again: so I was damn tired when I got the link some other peeps helped out.
Check out OFFICIAL: update.zip is finally here! :D - xda-developers
there is some important version info that could limit if you can use this file or not.

Have fun and stop stalking the darn internet now.
