P30 Pro Photography thread.

Okay, I'm new here. I received my Huawei p30 Pro on October 17th. I'd been using Google phones since the Nexus 5 so EMUI was rather a shock and had, still has, a steep learning curve. The camera app has an even steeper learning curve.

All my life I've been a user manual reader, usually after I started playing with whatever, but with new thingies there is no manual. So, I just made an amazing discovery which you all probably have known for months.

I've had a heck of a time zooming. Perhaps it's because my hands are 78-years old, damaged, and have always had short, wide fingers, but whatever the cause it was a nightmare.

Then I discovered I can zoom out and back by spreading or pinching two fingers. It's easy and amazingly accurate.

At three weeks, I'm enjoying the camera a lot and looking forward to learning more. I have only a few problems with which I am forced to live.

I thought all phones just needed a pinch to zoom? I find zooming easier by just slowly swiping left and right with one finger

Pinch to zoom is very convenient! I gotta remember that exists!

I have to confess that about fifteen minutes after I wrote the post this morning I ran across the Huawei Tips. Pinching and spreading to zoom in and out were there. Wish they'd done a User's Guide instead of hiding tips in the "Settings".

You're right- it should be made more available/accessible.

So how have you guys been zooming in? Every phone I've had since roughly the second iPhone has been pinch to zoom.

And my Huawei p30 pro has a graduated scale on the bottom of the screen and you move you finger along that scale. It is impossible for me to hit 10x or 20x.
