Panorama without 360 degrees

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone of you guys knew how to take a panorama shot with the HTC one but without having to do a full 360. Ive seen a few shots in the forums gallery with there panorama being maybe 180 degrees. If anyone could help me that would be great thanks!

When you start the pan shot there is box on the right side of the screen with an X in it. You can click this X to stop the pan shot at any point. Hope that helps.
