Parallel imported Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, no software updates

Hmm, I might try the unlocked version then...are you able to please provide a link to get said firmware, like before? That was greatly helpful (and was worth it when I got the sammobile site working!) :D

I think I've found it:
Thanks, but there are dozens of them on that page, and I don't know which one is which? There are also quite a few duplicates, and none of those acronyms (TMB/XAA/VZW) appear on the page either :(
Can you please suggest a direct link to one like last time, or do I just pick a random one (maybe just called "USA") and install that one? Sorry to be a pain.

EDIT: never mind, I think I figured it out :) Downloading an XAA one now, will see how it goes 🤞

I think I may have it sorted - I've also noticed the return of the select which network to use. This is looking quite promising...

Next thing is to test how well it gets a weak signal in a rural area, which will be next weekend. Will report back afterwards.

Thanks again for all the help provided here, I do appreciate it :)

I think so? It's not bringing up the AT&T thingo when I start the phone anymore.
I took a screenshot of the settings for you if you wanted to have a look and confirm:

I was also able to uninstall the AT&T apps - something else I couldn't do before.

Yay! Now to test the signal rurally.
That just leaves the FM radio (if possible).
Another quick query - apart from travelling overseas, is there any way to determine if this phone would have any issues with roaming? Or do I actually need to take it to Australia and see what happens?

Last time I travelled overseas I went to Malaysia in January 2020 using my (Vodafone sold) A3 2017 and roaming on 4G was flawless. As this is not a carrier provided phone I'm curious as to how well roaming would work (on 4G and 5G - as well as VoLTE), or would it not work at all?

Roaming should be available but that's going be based off carrier, FM radio that is going to be tough without root and knowing what to do if it is possible and Root most likely not available on US bootloader because carrier lock them , even US unlock

I think you're right - I did find the Samsung Radio installer as an .apk and had a go at installing it, but it just keeps loading and then shutting down almost immediately, so it's probably not going to work. A pity, but oh well :/

As to coverage/reception ability - next weekend it's going on a little rural field trip to the areas in the map below (if you're curious) :) with lots of 3G signal only, and a bit of 4G plus a little 2G...let's see how it goes 🤞

Sorry by saying coverage/reception I was talking about 2G/3G etc - FM radio works fairly well almost everywhere here :)
That's what it will fall back the reception or no signal in rural areas here , I thought you mentioned FM radio couldn't get working?
